𝒲e all were laid on the grass, basking in the moonlight as it shone over us. ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
the music in the background set the mood perfectly, the lyrics matching the view. 'just the two of us, 깊어져 가는 moonstruck' ㅤ ㅤ
my eyes found eunhae, who was sitting not far from me, also admiring the night sky. ㅤ
just like the lyrics to the song, I found myself moonstruck by her, the moon's tender beam illuminating her features, making her look even more breathtaking than she already was. ㅤ ㅤ
she looks angelic. her glossy lips slightly parted, making me wonder if she was thinking about something. Or maybe someone. God, i'm overthinking again. ㅤ
I tried my best to calm myself down, but this wasn't the first time she asked to hang out in the middle of the night. ㅤ
even so, why did i get so worked out for? ㅤ
clutches on my hoodie, i exhale relieving myself. shut the fuck up heart, she doesn't like you. ㅤㅤ ㅤ
glance back to the girl beside me, observing the way her hair was swaying in the soft breeze. She still looked beautiful with her hair a mess, but i couldn't help but think it was a bit annoying. ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
i couldn't handle her constant fidgeting, so i gently reached out and grabbed her hair tie off her wrist. her eyes quickly whipped up to look at me. ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
"sit still for a second." ㅤ ㅤ
i knelt and moved behind her, silently brushing my fingers through her hair-tied it tightly up into a small bun, making sure no strands were sticking out. ㅤ ㅤ
"There." i breathed out, finally moving my hands away from her. resumed my spot on the grass, and our shoulders touched. just to be warm, even though that's not what i did it for. ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
eunhae mumbles thanks, just a small one could be stuck unto my head, it could never leave them anymore. ㅤ ㅤ
"no problem." then silence fell over us again, it's awkward. wait why is it awkward? ㅤ ㅤ
i found myself lost in my thoughts again. another song started playing from my spotify playlist-8 𝓁etters ㅤ ㅤ
this song is right. it's just 8 letters but why is it so hard to say? but what will she reply? would she want to be more than that? probably not. Not when it's gonna be ℒdr. ㅤ ㅤ
i was caught off guard as i felt her lean close, her head finding its way to my shoulder. ㅤ ㅤ
and that's when i'm very thankful that eunhae's oblivious side is showing cause i'm about to kms if she knows how red i am the cause of her ㅤ ㅤ
after a few minutes of talking, we wrapped up. Getting ready to go. ㅤ ㅤ
i stood up, dusting off the grass sticking on my clothes. i held out a hand to her, offering to pull her up from the ground. ㅤ ㅤ
i secretly savored the feeling as her small hand fitted in mine, letting me effortlessly pull her up. Once she was standing, my hand did not leave hers, our fingers intertwined loosely. ㅤ ㅤ
"time to go home, i guess?" i said while she muttered a yes ㅤ ㅤ
we began walking and surprisingly, she didn't pull away yet as my hand still wrapped around hers. ㅤ ㅤ
walking in silence, i couldn't help but steal glances at her every few minutes, hoping she didn't notice even though she did-I've heard her chuckle a few times when i almost got caught. That's embarrassing ㅤ ㅤ
i was getting more and more frustrated with myself, why can't i just tell her? just say it... the inner battle slowly started to make my chest ache. ㅤ ㅤ
luck not on my side, we're already in front of her house as she open her gate when i let go of her hand. ㅤ ㅤ
i turned to face her and found myself frozen in place. she looked so pretty in the moonlight, it was taking all the self-control i had not to run my thumb against her soft skin. ㅤ ㅤ
"well, i guess this is it..!" I said trying to sound like me-the cheerful me. ignoring the way her eyes met mine. being this close to her, it was hard to keep my thoughts together. ㅤ ㅤ
"yeah, thanks for the night jake" she laughs slightly and waves before turning around "goodnight, sleep well"
ㅤ ㅤ my soul came back from being busy admiring her. shoot this may be our last time meeting. my words stuck in my throat ㅤ ㅤ
"oh uh, yeah...no problem. goodnight" ㅤ ㅤ
goodnight? what's goodnight? that sounds stupid! just say the three words! Tell her how you feel! ㅤ ㅤ
my body was urging me, my mouth itching to shout her name, just why is it so hard to confess? ㅤ ㅤ
silently cursing myself for how nervous i was. but then realized, she had already disappeared into her house, leaving me standing alone, with nothing but my thoughts, in her front yard. ㅤ ㅤ
