Ruhanika and Rohit walked together along the tree-lined path, the golden hues of the sunset casting a warm glow on everything around them. The gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze and the distant chirping of birds created a serene atmosphere, yet Ruhanika’s heart felt anything but calm. She glanced sideways at Rohit, his hand holding hers securely, and felt a surge of emotion. The nightmare had been haunting her for days, the fear gnawing at her, leaving her restless and worried.

“Rohit,” Ruhanika said softly, her voice barely a whisper. The concern in her tone made Rohit stop in his tracks, turning to face her with a look of immediate attention. He could see the worry etched on her delicate features, her eyes clouded with fear. “I’ve been having the same nightmare as Ruhi… every night. It’s like we’re both in some dark place, running, and I can’t see what we’re running from, but I know it’s bad. It feels so real, Rohit, like it’s not just a dream. I wake up scared and can’t shake the feeling that something awful is going to happen.”

Rohit’s expression softened as he reached out to cup her face gently, his thumb brushing away the tear that threatened to escape from the corner of her eye. “Ruhanika, dreams can be really intense sometimes, especially when you’re stressed or anxious. But it’s just your mind playing tricks on you. I promise, nothing is going to happen. You and Ruhi are safe.”

Ruhanika shook her head, her voice trembling. “But why would we both have the same dream? It can’t just be a coincidence, can it? It’s like… like a warning.”

Rohit pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her and pressing her head to his chest. “Shh, it’s okay. I’m here. I won’t let anything happen to you or Ruhi. You’re safe with me,” he murmured, his voice a soothing balm against the turmoil in her heart.

Ruhanika clung to him, trying to let his warmth chase away the cold fear lodged in her chest. She felt so small and vulnerable, but being in Rohit’s arms gave her a sense of security. After a moment, he pulled back slightly and looked into her eyes, a smile tugging at his lips. “You know what always makes everything better?” he asked playfully.

“What?” Ruhanika asked, her voice still shaky but curiosity lighting up her eyes.

“Chocolate ice cream,” Rohit said with a wink. “Your favorite.”

Despite herself, Ruhanika let out a small laugh. “You’re right. It does help,” she admitted. Rohit grinned, taking her hand again and leading her toward a nearby ice cream stand. He bought two cones of rich, creamy chocolate ice cream, handing one to Ruhanika. The sweet, familiar taste instantly began to soothe her, and she found herself relaxing, her worries momentarily forgotten.

They continued their walk, enjoying the ice cream, the sun dipping below the horizon and painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. Ruhanika’s mood lifted, and she felt a warmth spread through her, not just from the ice cream but from Rohit’s presence beside her. She stopped suddenly, turning to face him, and stood on her tiptoes to plant a gentle kiss on his lips.

“Thank you, Rohit,” she said softly, her eyes shining with gratitude. “For always knowing how to make me feel better.”

Rohit’s heart melted at the sight of her smile, the fear in her eyes replaced by affection. He leaned in to kiss her back, his hands cradling her face tenderly. “Anything for you, Ruhanika,” he whispered against her lips. They kissed again, this time deeper, the world around them fading away. Ruhanika forgot about the nightmare, about the fear, lost in the warmth and comfort of Rohit’s embrace.

Meanwhile, across town, Ruhi wandered through the bustling streets, feeling lost in a sea of faces. Her head pounded, her thoughts a tangled mess. She had tried to shake off the nightmares, but they clung to her mind like a dark cloud. The dream played in reverse in her head, images flashing backward, making her feel disoriented. It was as if the nightmare was trying to tell her something, but she couldn’t decipher its message.
