My 16th birthday came with a life changing news.

News. A Future that brings with it.

Serena always seemed like a shy girl since she was a child. She had a few friends from school. Not all of them were so nice. But Leeta and Sango had been super close to her since the 3rd grade.

Darien is the school's cute boy; every girl wants to date. he was dating Rei the head cheerleader right now. And Serena did have a huge crush on him. But everyone always called her a nerd or a freak sometimes, she used to be bullied a lot over the years. 

Darien once in a while was nice to her and stuck up for her when others were being super mean.

So, her limited friends list was short. Luna was her cat, and she spoiled her the best she could. She never had any siblings.

Not that she knew of, her dad was supposed to find a new wife or a new person to wed and whatnot, she never understood much as a child, but she always thought her grandmother was the reason for her parents not working out.

So, they secretly divorced, and her mom took her to go live with her, her dad did visit but it was always so mysterious how he would come and visit her and he did seem to come with a lot of men who wore a lot of black suits.

But then he sent gifts and money for caring for her.

So, she always believed he loved her. But then he died and only a few months ago now.

Just a few short months before her birthday, and then he passed away. 

So, now her birthday has come and gone. Mama got a call early this morning, and she was a bit stunned when she heard the call and who it was from.

She looked a bit nervous. But then said the words, I will tell her soon, give me some time, Stated Ikuko" gently.

As the voice answered back that she'd be there at the end of today she'd be flying down, so she wished to tell her, herself, that she wished to visit with her granddaughter. 

Ikuko approved and said alright. She'd say nothing, she only wanted to protect her daughter, so she nodded in agreement that first thing after school tomorrow, Serena was all hers, then hung up.

As Serena came downstairs and looked at her. 

She wished her daughter a happy birthday. Serena smiled at her mom and said thanks. "So, are we celebrating at that old restaurant again for my birthday? Asked Serena" curiously.

"Actually no, I have baked a nice cake this morning, and made some dishes, so why don't we have a small party here this time, you can invite some friends over, Said Mama" gently. As She nodded okay. 

So, is anyone on our side coming to my party? Asked Serena" curiously. "Your grandfather, my dad and Auntie of course, and your cousin Kagome, Said Mama" gently.

As she nodded her head okay. She and Kagome were the best of friends growing up and they were like sisters so this should be good.

So, she went to school and handed the invites to her friends about her party tonight. 

Most of her friends agreed to show up and come not there a long list or just a couple that showed up later on that day. She had some fun, and her mother seemed quiet throughout the night, she thought she'd like her daughter to have one last day of being normal before her world got turned upside down because she thought she was going to freak out, but she made a promise that she would keep quiet until the time was right, and she was going to hold to that promise until tomorrow.

So she hung out with her friends, they played a couple of games, then they ate and gave gifts, and then everyone went home.

She looked at her mom and asked her if everything was okay, and she smiled and said yes, and then proceeded to tell her that her grandmother was in town, and she'd like to see her tomorrow.

Serena looked a little not so pleased when her mother said this.

She turned around and said why would she come all the way here, and also why should she go see the snobby lady, who always ignores them, Replied Serena.

Ikuko lightly gave a deep breath and then told her that she was her father's mother, this bedroom to try to go see her, and said that her father had always hoped that they would meet one day.

Serena all their eyes a little then felt a little irritable about this but she said fine she would go see the woman tomorrow after school.

He went to bed and didn't say anything else that night.

Ikuko called back her grandmother and explained she would be there tomorrow afternoon after school.

So, what will happen and what is this life-changing news?
