"Move." I spoke in a calm tone.
"Its a free country love, we can sit wherever we please." She spat, and then continued the conversation she was having with her friends.
"Well then, love, I'm gonna give you 5 seconds to get up and take a hike with your pals. Otherwise..." The calmness in my voice was clearly going and I was beginning to get annoyed. What was their problem? They knew this was our hangout. I looked to my sides to see my girls Amber and Lana begin to lose their temper too. The three of us returned smiles before looking back at the three who sat before us on our table.
"Did I stutter? We. Are. Not. Moving." Hayley replied.
I was about to start the countdown when Amber suddenly nudged me out the way so that she'd be in the middle instead of me to get a better close up of Hayley. Hayley sat on the table with her legs folded whilst typing on her cell pretending to ignore our existence at the same time. Wow, I thought she was incapable of multitasking. Ruth and Jenn were sitting by either sides of Hayley and giggling. Lana mimicked their giggles in a dreadful way which made me laugh.
"Listen. Don't make me yank out your hair extensions and choke you with t--." Amber was cut of by the school alarm sounding off. "Gee, thanks for wasting our break." She finished.
"I would say 'See you later' but I don't want to see you at any point during the day." Hayley said playfully after getting up and already walking away with the other two, leaving us by ourselves. It was hard to believe that it was those girls who helped us out that night when we were running away...
"She is soooo annoying." Amber whined.
"Agreed." Lana said.
"Will you guys just pack it in? We're wasting our precious time over those losers." I said while laughing with them.
I unlinked my arms with both of theirs when we reached our lockers. I reached for my necklace and unhooked it.
After opening our lockers and exchanging some books for next period, we continued our walk.
"Hey, Cayanne?" Amber spoke softly. Her voice took me by surprise.
"Mhm?" I said.
"It's so good to you, you look great. I mean, it looks like nothing that bad ever happened. They said you weren't... you know... stable to get out and all but..."
Lana shut Amber up. She tried to make it seem casual, but it came out not so casually. Amber has always been the type to say things whitout thinking it through, but I knew she didn't mean any harm. I quickly changed the subject because I didn't want this conversation to get any further.
"I've got English now. We'll meet up round mine?" They both agreed and I gave them both a quick hug before parting my separate way down the left corridor.
"Bye Cayanne!" They said in unison before heading into the opposite corridor. Since they study the same subjects, they have most of their lessons together. Lucky. But at least I had Dylan with me for English. That's Lana's boyfriend. Without him, English would have killed me the day I started studying it. We sit right at the back and have a blast, laughing and messing about with each other and others as time passes more quickly when we have fun.
After the incident, I didn't know how things would be between us. But I know my friends trust me. They know I wouldn't do such a thing to anyone, let alone Fall.
I decide there's more positive things to think about.
I was just hoping my great day doesn't end so soon because I know it will. If I catch Hayley, Ruth and Jenn occupying our area again at the café too, I will literally lose it.
I entered my English class to see everyone stealing glances at me, whispering things that was clearly about me. Same old, same old. I'm proud of the fact that I've come back to school the day after I'd been released from the hospital. It shows that I have nothing to hide about which quite frankly I don't. Mr Henrison looked rather annoyed. That guy is always annoyed. He didn't seem to register me entering the classroom, which was weird because the room was silent, so I ducked and tiptoed as quietly as I could to my usual seat at the back.
I could see Dylan at the back smirking at me and miming his hands by ushering them towards himself to magically move me forward. Yeah, that doesn't help Dylan. He was lipping something but I couldn't work out what he was saying.
Click.
The sound of me breaking the pencil that someone must have dropped by accident onto the ground had finally caught Mr Henrison's attention. I prepared myself for the same lecture I usually get for my oh so terrible lateness. This day might not be as great as I hoped.
