The Malfoy Era

I walk to the grand hall. I am determined to be careful with everything that is going on. As I sat at the Slytherin table, I sat with Draco. Pansy was giving me a snickering look "Oh the Prodigy with the Slytherins?" I turn to her with a cold expression. "Not in the mood Parkinson." She rolled her eyes I started to look at everyone chatting with each other.

I walked into the Grand Hall, determined to keep a low profile amidst the whispers and suspicious glances. My mark's powers required further exploration, and I couldn't afford distractions.

As I sat at the Slytherin table, Draco sat beside Pansy, making sure we didn't go far. Pansy rolled her eyes, and I focused on the murmuring crowd. Professor McGonagall's stern voice cut through the chatter.

"Students, faculty, and honoured guests, I present our new Headmistress, Narcissa Malfoy."

Draco beamed with excitement, while Ron whispered, "Blimey, it's her!" Hermione shot him a warning glance.

I studied Aunt Narcissa's transformed appearance: the flowy sleek bun, emerald green robes, and a diamond necklace. Fred and George Weasley, sitting nearby, exchanged mischievous grins. Fred whispered, "Looks like she's trying to outdo Mum's best gowns." George chuckled. "Narcissa's gone from Dark witch to fashion icon."

Ron stifled a snicker, and I signalled him to keep quiet. Aunt Narcissa continued, "Hello students I am Narcissa Malfoy but I go by Professor Malfoy. I am delighted to lead this school into greatness." All the students were confused "I am aware this is scary but I assure you all that positive changes will occur." I saw some younger kids crying she looked at them "I am well aware some may be afraid of me but no need to be. For now, I'd like to introduce our new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor...Professor Remus Lupin." Students applauded, and I joined in, intrigued by him.
Seamus whispered to Neville, "What's with her?" Neville shrugged. "No idea, but I don't trust her."

Hagrid's expression mixed sadness and excitement. Aunt Narcissa acknowledged him.
"Please welcome Rubeus Hagrid, taking over as the Professor of Care of Magical Creatures professor." Aunt Narcissa continues to introduce the new professors. The lady who I met on the train was there. "I am sorry to announce that Professor Sybill Trelawney will no longer be teaching. She has accepted a job offer elsewhere."

I recalled her informing me of Trelawney's departure in protest over Dumbledore's...departure. Rumors swirled about her new role at the French wizarding school, Beauxbatons. Some claimed it was related to You-Know-Who. Dumbledore kept her safe by having her here. She must have fled to France for safety.

Aunt Narcissa gazes at all the students. "I'd like to introduce you to Allanah Rowynn, the new Divination Professor." She stood up as others were clapping her gaze on all the students with her blue eyes. I learned to Draco "She was so odd at the train before we departed she was so excited. Getting all up into my personal space, I don't get it." Draco whispered back "Yeah I heard she's Dolores Umbridge's cousin." I replied "That explains it. I better be careful, I'm glad I'm not taking her class." Draco smirked "Oh but I do guess you dodged a bullet." We giggled. Draco whispered, "Mother will keep Potter in line, Ellie. Potter, is it true that you fainted?" I shot him an annoyed glance, and Ron muttered, "Oh, shove it, Draco."

"As your new Headmistress," she continued, "I'm committed to ensuring every student's safety and well-being. Recent...events have made it clear that Hogwarts requires a new approach to security."

Murmurs spread through the hall like wildfire. "Sirius Black's escape has prompted me to work with the Ministry, stationing Dementors around the school. This is for your protection, especially those he may target. There will soon be other safety precautions for certain students. As some need personal care as of the moment." She turned to me I blushed.
