Annie and Hayley Marshall heard a noise coming from downstairs and they each grabbed a nearby fire poker from the room they were in. Annie slowly walked down the stairs in front of her twin sister wither their hands interlocked as a form of comfort. Both of them were ready to protect not only themselves, but the child Hayley was currently carrying, so they each held a tight grip on their pokers as they were ready to swing at the unwanted intruder(s).

When they made it downstairs, they saw unfamiliar but somehow at the same time, familiar blonde woman walking into the Mikaelson plantation like she owned the place. The two shared a look and cautiously set down their weapons.

"Who the hell are you, lady?" Annie asked, still standing in front of her sister protectively.

"Ah, you two must be the maids. Fetch my bags from the car would you?" The blonde said waving the twins off as she looked around the plantation as nostalgia hit her.

"Um, hello?" Hayley says stepping out from behind her sister so they were shoulder to shoulder. She was beyond annoyed that this blonde woman was treating her and her sister like dirt under her heels. "Not the maids."

The blonde woman stopped and eyed the twins up and down, but she spent more time on Hayley, mainly her stomach. "You must be the one my bastard brother knocked up, I was expecting more of a bump. Guess you're not showing yet. Speaking of brothers, where's Elijah?"

Hayley and Annie shrugged, Elijah was nice to them. Well, he was nicer to Hayley and she and her sister felt safer with him than with Klaus so his sudden and mysterious exit made both of them a little anxious in their day to day lives.

"Beats me, he's long gone." Hayley said shrugging again, feeling a little angry about it.

"Just kind of, vanished." Annie added with another shrug.

"What do you mean long gone and vanished?" The woman asked, narrowing her eyes at the two girls. She knew something must have happened because her brother had been bothering her for weeks about this so called Mikaelson miracle baby. So, there was no logical way he'd suddenly disappear.

"One moment he was making epic promises and giving my sister and I his word that he would take care of what a one night stand and a bottle of whiskey got me into and the next thing we know he's gone. We both asked Klaus and he said that he bailed. I guess that's what I get for trusting a vampire." Hayley said then frowned slightly.

"Elijah doesn't welch on deals, unlike our youngest brother. Which means Klaus has done something dastardly like again." The blonde fumed and went on to shout. "KLAUS GET OUT HERE AND TELL ME WHAT YOU'VE DONE WITH OUR BROTHER YOU NARCISSISTIC BACKSTABBING WANKER!"

Annie and Hayley winced at her loud voice before sharing a look and following behind the blonde woman to watch the scene play out between the siblings.

"Wish I had a snack to go along with this show." Annie whispered quietly to Hayley who giggled, but nudged her sister.

Klaus slammed open the study's door and smirked smugly at the blonde. "Rebekah! How lovely of you to join us."

"What have you done to Elijah?" She asked giving Klaus a fierce glare while ignoring his greeting.

Klaus simply shrugged before replying. "Maybe he's taking a nice autumn nap."

Annie listened to them argue back and forth before her mind wandered back to a few weeks ago when they first arrived in New Orleans after being rescued from the witches in the cemetery by Elijah.

Annie was sitting in one of the chairs with a pile of what looked to be old journals in front of her as she was reading through them. She never knew the name of the author of these journals, but the last word would always be the same 'Mischief.' She had made the assumption that this person must have been close with the Mikaelson family if they kept the journals after all this time.
