Dear Readers,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for reading and supporting this story from start to finish. Your comments, enthusiasm, and continued encouragement have meant the world to me, and I'm truly grateful for every single one of you who joined me on this journey.

The original idea for this story stemmed from a simple question: What if Edward's significant other wasn't like Bella? What if she wasn't focused on becoming a vampire but was instead intent on getting to know Edward as the person he truly was, beyond his supernatural nature? This concept opened up a world of possibilities, allowing Autumn to explore a deeper connection with Edward, one rooted in understanding and love rather than a desire to be something she wasn't.

Taylor Swift's lyricism was a huge inspiration for this story, particularly the emotions captured in her song "Red." The title itself reflects the intense, passionate, and sometimes painful feelings that Autumn experienced as she fell for Edward. Each chapter in this story is named after a different Taylor Swift song, with the lyrics of the song "Red" sprinkled throughout to reflect the stages of Autumn and Edward's relationship, (in bold). If you haven't already, I highly recommend going back to the playlist and listening to the songs while reading to truly immerse yourself in their story.

And yes, for those of you who noticed—there are 13 parts to this story (excluding this note). If you know Taylor Swift and the significance of the number 13, you'll understand the little nod there!

As for the ending, I wanted to leave it open-ended, giving you, the reader, the chance to interpret Autumn's fate in your own way. Is it all a figment of her imagination? Is she having premonitions, like the one she had in chapter one, foreseeing her and Edward's future? Or did she die in the transition process, with her life flashing before her eyes? The choice is yours, and I hope the ambiguity adds to the mystery and emotional depth of the story.

Thank you once again for reading and sticking with me through this entire process. Your support has been invaluable, and I hope you enjoyed every twist, turn, and emotional moment along the way.

With love and gratitude,

Jessi Road
