OLIVIA WALKED THROUGH THE halls of her high school for the first time since freshman year ended. Her summer was spent doing lots of boring shit and working to earn money for a car. She strolled through the cafeteria and found her usual spot in the back.
Taking a seat, her friend, Sabrina, looked up from her magazine. "Hey, bitch." The blonde greeted.
"You know, there are nicer words to use." Olivia replied back sarcastically yet did a small handshake with Sabrina who just smiled innocently.
"I know but you're a bitch so why not call you out on it?" Sabrina shrugged and as Olivia stared at her with eyebrow raise, she returned back to her magazine. "So, sophomore year, how's that feel?"
"Nothing new. What about junior year for you?" The brunette leaned back, stealing one of Sabrina's blueberries from her little bag that she brings every morning for breakfast.
"Same." The blonde groaned. "But there's no hot guys this year, for some reason. It's like they all had a glow down."
"I thought you liked Martin?" I looked at her in confusion when she shook her head rapidly with wide eyes.
"Oh, no, no. We hooked up over the summer, dated for a little, and then I dumped him because he was too boring." Sabrina sighed which made Olivia roll her eyes. "I just need a guy who's exciting and doesn't want to talk about nerdy things all day long."
"What was he talking about that was so nerdy?" Olivia couldn't help but ask.
"Theatre."
The brunette sat back with a scoff at Sabrina's answer. "Anyway. There are these new neighbors who moved in across from my house by the way. A guy who looks like he's in college, a girl my age, and a baby."
"Neat, you gonna try to do anything with the girl?" Sabrina asked as she fixed her makeup in the travel size mirror she took out of her backup.
"No." Olivia scoffed as she stood up, carrying hers and Sabrina's backpacks through the halls until they reached their lockers. "She looks like a bitch if I'm being honest."
"Yeah but you are too so you're perfect for each other." Sabrina blew Olivia a kiss when the latter rolled her eyes with a dramatic sigh. The first bell rang, signaling their need to get to class now. "Good luck with sophomore year, babes."
As Olivia watched Sabrina leave, she shut her locker and turned around to watch Dallas enter the main office door. She sighed and left for her first class of the day — world history.

Dallas explored the front office with her eyes as she awaited for her schedule. The lady slid it back to her and soon enough, she tucked it safely away in the pocket of her flannel. On her way out, she spotted her best friend roaming the halls with sunglasses on her face indoors.
"Uh, Quinn?" Dallas called for her friend with a confused smile. Said girl turned around, her grin as bright as the sun as she saw Dallas.
"Dal!" Quinn Parker cheered as she threw her arms tightly around Dallas's neck, causing the girl to scrunch up a little at the bone-crushing hug. "I missed you!"
"Missed you too?" Dallas pulled away with a disoriented chuckle, facing Quinn who brushed her hair back. "What's with the sunglasses?"
"Oh, remember those brownies you gave me?" She slurred slightly and Dallas's eyes went wide. "Well, I forget I had them until this morning when I was looking for a sweet treat to calm my nerves for school and let me tell you, they really calmed me down." Quinn let out an almost drunk laugh, stumbling over her own two feet.
"How many of those brownies did you eat?" Dallas asked worriedly as she glanced behind her. It was her first day at a new school and her friend was higher than the Empire state building. "Ugh, come on." She grabbed Quinn's hands and dragged the giggling girl to the bathroom. Luckily, no one was in here. "Bitch, you need to sober up."
"Nooooo, I like this feeling." Quinn protested in a childish, whiny tone. She shoved Dallas's hands away when the latter tried to help her.
"No, you can't show up to class like this." Dallas groaned on frustration. She heard a toilet flush and a girl a little shorter than her with brown hair walked out, ignoring their presence as she washed her hands. Dallas simply turned back to her best friend who looked like she was watching imaginary unicorns dance around the bathroom. "Quinn Parker!"
Quinn jumped with the widest eyes ever as Dallas clapped her hands in her face, forcing her to snap back into reality for a split second. "Ugh." The best friend rolled her eyes almost dozing off as she sat up on the bathroom sink.
"You're infuriating." Dallas searched her bag for the perfect snack to soak up the weed inside Quinn.
"Here." The strange girl walked up to her, giving her a bag of chips and two sugar cookies. "This should work."
"Thanks." Dallas was a bit hesitant to take them but she did anyway and turned to Quinn. "Quinn, here, eat this."
"Ooh! Snackies!" The Parker girl cheered and snatched the snacks from Dallas's hand, beginning to munch excessively on them.
"Uh thank you, by the way." Dallas ignored her best friend for a moment to turn to the girl who shrugged, adjusting the straps of her backpack.
"No big deal, it happened to me once." She joked lightly before flashing a small grin over to Dallas. "Good luck with that."
"I'll need it." Dallas muttered and they shared a small laugh before said girl began to leave. "I'm Dallas, by the way."
The girl turned back around with a slight nod, "Olivia."
