Hadi Rani was the daughter of Hada Chauhan Rajput Sangram Singh. Her marriage took place with Rawat Ratan Singh, a Chundawat chieftain from Salumbar in Mewar.

The Sacrifice: During a critical moment, when Mewar's King Raj Singh I (1653–1680) called Ratan Singh to join the rebellion against the Mughal governor of Ajmer Subah, Ratan Singh had just married Hadi Rani a few days earlier. He asked his wife for a memento to take with him to the battlefield. However, Hadi Rani realized that her presence might hinder his duty to Mewar. In an act of immense sacrifice, she cut off her own head and presented it to her husband on a plate. Devastated but proud, Ratan Singh tied the memento around his neck by its hair. After the rebellion ended, he, too, sacrificed his life by cutting his own neck, having lost the desire to live without his beloved wife.

Legacy: Hadi Rani's valor, courage, and chivalry continue to inspire people in Rajasthan. Folklore singers sing songs about her, and her story is part of the curriculum in Rajasthan. Even today, she is revered, and her sacrifice remains a symbol of unwavering devotion and patriotism. 🙏
