A terrifying Move

I've been in literal agony for two days.

Two days.

That's how long she's been avoiding me.

Ochaco Uraraka has not spoken to me since we kissed on movie night.

I've been roaming UA's massive halls like a phantom haunting these grounds with my anxiety.

Of course, perceptive Ida noticed right away.

"Is there a reason Uraraka has been avoiding us? Did something happen between you two?" He asked as he placed his notes in his book bag after class was dismissed.

I bit the inside of my cheek. "Um, no. Why? Has she... said anything?" I tried keeping my voice low so our exiting classmates wouldn't hear our conversation, but to my dismay, Jiro inserted herself into our chat.

She cleared her throat before speaking. "Sorry, guys. I really couldn't help but overhear," she gestured to her Quirk, earphone jack. "But I was also wondering why Uraraka's been acting weird lately. The other girls and I have tried asking her what's up, but she's been skidish with us."

She shrugged as she glanced around the classroom. "Do you two know anything?"

I swallowed.

"No. I'm afraid I don't know what's going on with her." Ida responded before before cupping a fist. "Oh, I do know that she was fine before the movie viewing we held the other night. Perhaps something bothered her after that. What do you think, Midoriya?"

Crap. Ida, please don't ask me, I'm a terrible liar. And now I didn't like the way Jiro was eyeing me - like she was putting things together in her head.

I had to divert fast. "I, uh, wouldn't know." Nice, Izuku. "Maybe she just needs some space before we can ask her any questions. I'm sure she'll bounce back soon." I tried sounding reassuring, but they shared a suspicious look.

I took that as my cue to bail before they figured out my secret.

It was a fresh, crisp afternoon when I went straight to training after class. Running was my go-to stress reliever, so I took to the pavement incredibly fast activating my full Cowling.

Just as I was about to finally tackle what my next move was, my run was interrupted when I bumped into Kacchan and Kirishima.

"Whoa, hey Midoriya! You nearly ran us over, man." Kirishima said.

Kacchan didn't seem to like that comment. "I'd like to see this nerd try it."

I held his death stare. Dread started to creep up my back. I've been trying to act like what happened was no big deal, but that was almost impossible when Kacchan had a front row seat to one of the biggest moments of my young life. Now I was just waiting for him to drop the kiss bomb to everyone else, but strangely, he hadn't.

Sensing hostility, Kirishima tried to lighten the mood.

"Anyway, we just got back from the cafeteria. Me and Bakugo here had a mini raid for snacks. Here, have some, Midoriya. Are you finished with your run? You should come back to the dorms with us." He grinned at me.

Kacchan scowled at him but didn't say anything.

"Um, sure, I don't mind." I said, still wary of Kacchan's gaze, but as soon as I started chatting with Kirishima, my nerves settled down.

Man, he always had this friendly way about him, I could see why even Kacchan seemed to like hanging around him, even if he did complain.

I was rubbing the sweat off my forehead when Kirishima asked if I was doing anything later tonight.
