Red didn’t expect for the girl in front of her to steal her clock, and she definitely didn’t expect her to hit her in the back of her head with it. She tried her best to ignore the pounding in her head, that damn watch was about eight pounds. What the hell kind of design flaw was that?
Red quickly pulled herself off of the ground, grabbing the flagpole close to her. It wasn’t much, or very ideal, but she could manage. She ran back towards the girl, thrashing the metal rod into her direction in an attempt to knock her out. She was slightly caught off guard upon hearing the clinking of steel. She groaned, of course Cinderella’s daughter would be skilled with a sword. How princess like.
“What is your problem!” The other girl shouted, the fabric of the flag swiftly falling off as the princess dragged her sword sharply to the right. Red readied herself, quickly countering the incoming attack. The bluenette gritted her teeth as she tried to force the redhead into submission, she refused to lose this battle. She couldn’t lose, not when her mother’s life was on the line.
“Give up already!” Red shifted her weight as she shouted, causing Chloe’s sword to go flying. Both of their eyes strayed to the sword, then back to each other, and just like that, Chloe made a run for it. Red wasn’t one to be outdone, and she knew if she let this girl get a hold her sword again, she may as well give up. She did the only thing she could think of.
She threw the rod, rushing after the girl and briskly tackling her to the ground. Red wrapped her hand around her throat, both of them breathing heavily. “Give me the fucking watch.” She demanded, the grip on Chloe’s neck tightening.
“No can do.” The knight replied, flipping them over. Red’s eyes quickly darted to the girl’s right hand, where had she gotten that dagger from?
“You like it? Little trick I picked up on.” She said smugly, drawing the blade back before allowing it to pierce the girl’s thigh. She watched as the girl beneath her shuttered, tears filling her eyes. Chloe hummed, somewhat satisfied with this outcome. She hated inflicting pain, but really, the Wonderlandian princess had it coming as soon as she sentenced her mother to certain death.
“Now, you’re gonna listen to what I have to say, and then we’ll take care of the knife in your thigh.. Got it?” Red furrowed her brows, her chest rising and falling quickly as her vision blurred. She could still feel the weight of the girl straddling her waist. She smirked slightly, an idea coming to mind.
“You didn’t think this through, did you?” Chloe tilted her head at the girl, almost taken aback by her tone.
“Well, I don’t think you’re in the position to be complaining, little rabbit.” She murmured, running her fingers through Red’s hair. Red was never one to be outdone, and while the burning pain in her thigh was bad, it wasn’t even a quarter of what her mother had put her through. She sneakily reached her hand down, grabbing the handle of the knife.
“Hey, Clover?” Red called, leaning up a bit. The girl hummed in reply, being quick to forcefully shove the girl back onto the ground. The crowned princess winced, which Chloe had assumed was a result of her head hitting the concrete.
She was wrong. So wrong.
She laid in shock as her back was unwillingly pressed further into the rough surface. She mentally cursed herself as she felt the cold metal rest against her neck gently. Chloe’s eyes searched frantically for a way out, but were quickly stuck on Red’s cheshire smile. She leaned in, letting her lips ghost on her prisoner’s.
“Checkmate.”
