"Lexie, please let me put your shoes on!" mom groans
"No! I don't wanna!" Lexie squeals
"How much longer before you give up and let her quit dance." dad asks
"Never, she is not quitting dance because she saw some girl on tv do skating, she's three she doesn't know any better" mom sighs
"can't she do both? skating requires ballet technique so why can't she do both?" I ask
"Because she'll then have to choose to do skating competitions or dance competitions, and If this show picks up more I cannot do skating competitions" mom says
"more like you want her to do dance competitions" I mumble
"Amelia?" mom asks
"nothing!" I say and I pick up my dance bag
"I cannot believe the public loved you enough to get another season." dad says to mom as she continues to fight with Lexie to get her shoes on
"I know, Abby is thrilled." mom says
"I'm sure she is, are you excited?" dad turns to me
I nod
"it was fun learning new routines each week." I say
the moms fighting? not so much
and I have an odd feeling they'll be doing it a lot more this season..
"good as long as it stays fun, people always say reality tv is tough and now somehow you're both on a reality show" dad says
"we'll be fine. six seasons they have us for." mom says as she ties Lexies trainers
"Six? six years?" dad asks
"Apparently though we could get cancelled anytime." mom says
I head towards the door with Lexie
"that's half of her childhood she'll be thirteen by the time this ends, I don't feel good about this." dad says
"It's too late now.. she's fine, she's having fun you're the one who let her audition for it in the first place." mom says
