[Scene: Early morning in the apartment. Sunlight streams through the blinds.]
[In Marcus and Aiden's room]
Marcus: (stretching and yawning) Rise and shine, Aiden! First day of classes awaits!
Aiden: (groggily) Mmph... five more minutes...
Marcus: (chuckling) Come on, sleepyhead. I'll make coffee.
[In Leo and Jace's room]
Leo: (already dressed and organized) Jace, it's time to get up. We have orientation in an hour.
Jace: (muffled by pillow) The only orientation I need is horizontal, dude.
Leo: (sighing) I'm not leaving until you're up. Don't make me resort to drastic measures.
Jace: (peeking out) Ooh, kinky. What kind of measures we talking about?
Leo: (flustered) That's not— I meant— Just get up!
[In the kitchen]
Marcus: (humming while brewing coffee) Good morning, Leo! Early riser, huh?
Leo: Indeed. I like to start my day promptly. Is that coffee I smell?
Marcus: Yup! Want a cup? I make a mean latte.
Leo: (smiling) That would be lovely, thank you.
[Aiden shuffles in, hair mussed and eyes barely open]
Marcus: (grinning) Look who joined the land of the living! Coffee, Aiden?
Aiden: (mumbling) Please. Need caffeine.
[Jace bursts in, shirtless and hair wild]
Jace: Did someone say coffee? Also, has anyone seen my lucky pick? Can't start the semester without it.
Leo: (averting his eyes) Jace, please put on a shirt.
Jace: (flexing) Why? Enjoying the view too much?
Aiden: (blushing and hiding behind his mug) Is it always going to be this lively in the morning?
Marcus: (laughing) Looks like it. Hope you're not too attached to peace and quiet, buddy.
[They all settle around the small kitchen table with their coffees]
Leo: So, what's everyone's schedule like today?
Marcus: I've got Business Ethics at 9, then Accounting at 11. Thrilling stuff.
Aiden: (quietly) I have Colour Theory at 10, then a studio session this afternoon.
Jace: Music Theory at 11, then band practice. Speaking of which, you're all coming to our gig this weekend, right?
Leo: (hesitantly) I suppose we could... where is it?
Jace: (grinning) The Rusty Nail. It's gonna be epic!
Marcus: Sounds fun! We'll be there, right guys?
[Aiden nods shyly, Leo looks uncertain]
Leo: I'll check my study schedule.
Jace: (dramatically) Come on, doc! All work and no play makes Leo a dull boy!
Leo: (sighing) Fine, I'll come. But I'm bringing my textbook.
Marcus: (clapping Leo on the back) That's the spirit! Now, whose turn is it to do dishes?
[They all look at the chore wheel on the fridge]
Aiden: (pointing) Looks like it's Jace's turn.
Jace: (groaning) Ugh, past Jace is a jerk for agreeing to this system.
