Third Person

Marie De Santos has been in labor for twelve hours and is in pain.

"Push one more time." Dr. Davis says once again.

Marie pushes as hard as she can and screams in pain. The Doctors and nurses already know that this is the last child that Marie will be able to have. This birth is taking longer than it needs to when she has already had six children.

Births are often shorter with each child. There is also way too much blood that is the baby doesn't come out soon the mother will die from hemorrhaging.

Dr. Davis takes a risk and reaches her hand into the mother to shift the baby and places her hand flat on the baby's belly and pulls the child out. Dr. Davis knows that this is not the normal way to get the baby out, but the mother was too exhausted to push anymore and too far into the birth to switch to an emergency cesarean.

Dr. Davis quickly ties the umbilical cord and snips. She hands the baby to the nurse next to and immediately turns back to the mother to stop the bleeding. Dr. Davis searches for the bleed to stitch, but is having a hard time finding it with how much blood there is.

She grabs a wipe and wipes away the blood to see if she can find the bleeding. Just as she finds the source the mother starts coding. Dr. Davis calls for the coding team. They work together to try to save the mother's life, they work for five minutes before they are forced to call the time.

"Call it." Dr. Davis says and she pulls away from the mother to start cleaning her up for the family.

"21:52" Someone says.

"Please help with cleaning her up, while I inform the family." Dr. Davis says. She pulls the gloves off her hands as she is walking to the door.

She walks out and finds the family all sitting in the chairs waiting.

"Can we see our mom now?" Kyle asks, he is the youngest of the boys and is the most emotional.

"I am sorry to inform you, but she passed." Dr. Davis takes a deep breath as she watches the family lose composure. "There was too much bleeding and she coded, we were unable to revive her. I am having my team clean her up and you can have her sent to whichever funeral home you choose. I am so sorry that I was unable to save her." Dr. Davis looks to Robert De Santos.

"Your daughter is in the NICU and you can see her at anytime."

Robert sucks in a quick breath as he hears the word daughter. A daughter after six sons. He is proud to have heard that he has a daughter. She will be spoilt, but also taught to be appreciative and humble.

She will be the princess of the family.

"Her name. I want her name to be Josephina De Santos. Josephina after my late mother." Robert says with a raspy voice filled with emotion.

While Dr. Davis and the family are talking Nurse Riley brings the baby girl to the NICU and places her in the basinet. Having already cleaned and wrapped her in a pink blanket. The nurse weighs the baby 7 pounds and 12 ounces. Measures her at 21.5 inches or 54.61 centimeters.

Her lungs and heart sound good and the nurse puts a nutrient IV into the vein in the hand. She also bottle feeds the baby when she gets a page that the mother had passed.

"There you go, little one." She says to the baby as she finishes the bottle.

"Is this the De Santos baby?" A male voice asks from behind Riley. She looks behind her and sees a man with dark hair and green eyes. Not the father as she had seen the father when she had went into room before the birth.

"Who are you?" She asks instead of answering the question.

"Thanks." He says and takes out a military knife and stabs the nurse in her abdomen. "You may live, if they find you fast enough."

She drops to the floor and watches, unable to help, as this man takes the baby and walks out.

She tried to crawl after him. She cries as she knows that she is unable to help. She remembers her pager.

Dr. Davis and the family runs into the NICU are Dr. Davis gets a 911 Page from Nurse Riley.

Dr. Davis sees Riley on the floor bleeding from a wound on her abdomen. She also sees that the basinet is empty.

"I couldn't save her." Riley is bawling her eyes out. Dr. Davis rushes over to her and puts pressure on her abdomen. "I'm sorry, I couldn't save her."

Robert De Santos loses all emotion and immediately leaves the NICU and goes to the security to see the tapes. He watches as the leader of the Irish Mafia takes his daughter. He follows the tapes to him leaving out an emergency door and loses him when he turns down an alley way that doesn't have any cameras.

Robert takes his phone out and calls his head of security.

"Find Eolann Kelly. He took my daughter." He spits into the phone angrily.

How dare Eolann take his daughter. His princess.

Eolann's plane lands in North Dakota and he takes Babygirl to a cabin deep in the woods in the middle of nowhere. A place Robert De Santos will never find him.

Eolann had a basement built when he heard that Marie De Santos had been pregnant again. He thought it was going to be another boy, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a girl.

He takes Babygirl down into the basement and places her into the basinet that he bought before going to New York waiting for the baby to be born. He bought diapers, formula, and the basinet and toddler bed. He also bought only one stuffed animal, a white rabbit.

"This is your new home, Babygirl." He calls her Babygirl, because her name wasn't on her basinet at the hospital, when he took her. It will be her name from now on.
