Y/n glanced at her watch, It was 8 In the morning. It was time for her morning exercise. Looking out her window from the 5th story of Beverly Hills luxury apartment. There she had a full view of the Neighbourhood park. Her eyes scan the Summer Scenery of bright sunlight hitting the tiles of the green rooftops, the grass swaying along with the bustle of the lively neighbourhood. She had always found the scene breathtaking, In her eyes It captured the stillness of an ordinary Chinese life perfectly.
She caught notice of the old grannies in the park doing Tai Chi, wanting to amuse herself. She ran out the door and down the flights of stairs that led her to the outside where Y/n found herself asking the elderly if she could join in. To which they chuckled and gladly made a spot for her. For exactly 14 minutes Y/n followed along with their movements trying to ingrain all the little kinks of what made Tai Chi, Tai Chi. She made a few tumbles and mistakes however that was normal for a beginner. Or at least thats what she told herself. One of the neighbourhood kids spotted her struggling and began to poke fun at her sloppy technique.
'Why are you struggling so much? You realise grannies and grandpa's do this with ease right?" A voice asked from behind her, she could recognise it from anywhere. Cheng LuWei, Top of the class, and a bit of a bad boy gone wild.
"Try to do something without breaking it first, LuWei." Y/n rolled her eyes. She hated him from the bottom of her heart. Seeing this made Cheng want to taunt her even more. But before he could, MeiYìng: Y/n's close friend, called her over in a joyous tone. She had probably memorised the notes she was practicing on her violin, and wanted to show Y/n.
"Seems your audience is required, your majesty." Cheng smirks at her.
'Did he really he think he was being flirty by doing that?' Y/n thought to herself. It was embarrassing for him, she was embarrassed for him. Y/n quickly made her way to Meiyìng's side, ready to shower her friend with encouraging words.
"Y/n! I finally finished memorising half the part, I wasn't very sure if I could but I did it!" Meiyìng brightly exclaimed.
"Do you want to hear? It might be a bit bad." The girl was way too humble If Y/n had her talent she would be bragging about it ti'll everybody's ears bled.
"Nonsense Mei, give yourself some credit. You've been working so hard on memorising that pile of dead tree's you call a stack of paper. If you worked so hard on it, then trust me, the results will show for itself."
"Ah! Right I forgot to show you something." Y/n reached for her bag, and reached inside, taking out a small white envelope with a little plastic red heart sticker attached keeping it from opening.
"I found it earlier on my way out of the apartment, someone stuck it onto my door."
MeiYíng squealed "A love letter? Thats so cute Y/n, do you have nay idea on how could've sent it to you?"
Y/n thought about it for a while. Before she gave up completely, having not a single clue on who it could be.
"Who cares, I'm not even allowed to date anyways, It's not like Im interested." Y/n spoke in a noncholant tone. Her actions showing the opposite as she opened the letter carefully.
"To my cherished, Y/n
I hope you read this with as much care as the amount of thought i gave into this letter.
In the narrow hills I often see you sit, at 8 O'clock precisely when the time is right. Be there and be ready. When the summer hills fade into brown, I will be gone. So Mr. Huang's shop will sell you the item at the right price, the school gates will open at morning time. Travel all the way to the place where it all began, there the truth of the uncanny rhymes begin to chime.
