The vibration in my right pocket broke my focus from her balcony door. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone, the screen lighting up with 'Jayesh'. Swiping the green icon, I brought the phone to my ear.

"Speak," I snapped.

"Hey Viku, where are you?" Jayesh's voice rang through, accompanied by Abhay's laughter in the background. The nickname never fails to irritate me.

"Shut up," I growled, my annoyance spiking at the pointless call and the name that grated on my nerves.

"You're so rude!" he commented, but I couldn't care less about his opinion.

"Stop, Jai," Abhay's voice roared in the background before he took over the call. "When will you reach the party?"

I rolled up the sleeve of my blazer, glancing at my wristwatch. "Aren't you guys too early?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"We're just an hour early, okay!" Jai defended, his voice holding a playful edge. I shook my head, exasperated.

"All thanks to Jai, who blackmailed me into coming early," Abhay added, sounding equally annoyed.

But my eyes stayed glued to the balcony door, my heartbeat rising in anticipation, awaiting the most stunning view.

"Blackmail?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

"Well, this asshole secretly clicked a photo of mine wearing his sister's satin dress while playing a dare game," Abhay explained, his tone filled with annoyance.

Abhay and Jayesh with their useless dare games!

"Seriously, my dare was way better than yours. A pole dance at a club in front of my fans? Like, come on, Abhay!" Jai exclaimed, sounding proud of his absurd dare. The word 'fans' instantly caught my attention.

"Fans?" Abhay and I questioned in unison, both equally bewildered by Jai's unexpected revelation.

"Oh, don't act like you guys don't know how girls are always trying to get close to an innocent soul like me," Jai boasted. I rolled my eyes, his words dripping with exaggerated confidence. The call went silent for a moment, a pause that seemed filled with disbelief on our end.

"Even I know you guys are jealous of me," Jai added, his voice smug. This guy never fails to catch me off guard with his sassy comebacks.

I kept my eyes glued to the balcony door as it slowly opened. The anticipation in my chest tightened. "I'll meet you at the party," I said abruptly, cutting the call before they could respond.

A smile involuntarily spread across my face. She stood at the corner of the balcony, one hand gripping her phone, the other resting lightly on the railing. Her lips moved in a rhythm, carrying a conversation I couldn't hear, but I knew who it was. I couldn't help but sneak a glance at my phone to see who she was talking to.
