Y/n's POV

Rushing upstairs to Chandler's apartment I knock on his door rapidly hoping that he's in only for Monica's apartment door to open and I turn around just in time to find myself being pulled inside by Joey. Kissing him quickly I move over to Chandler as I try to catch my breath making him look at me confused as the others are all focused on tv. "Wow. Breathe and tell me what's going on." He says and I look at him with a glare making him chuckle slightly while Joey hands me a bottle of water which I happily take a gulp from. "Is this about mum? Because she's due on with Jay Leno any minute now." He tells me and I nod with a groan making him chuckle slightly as he helps me sit down.

"Called. Ten minutes ago. Coming here. Book tour." I gasp out and he looks at me confused making me groan as I motion to the tv as mum comes out while falling back into Joey's chest. "Find out yourself." I mutter as I finally catch my breath and he just looks at me confused before paying attention to the tv.

"I'm going to guess from the gasped ramble your mum's coming to New York for her book tour." Joey says into my hair and I nod with a groan making him chuckle as he strokes my arm lightly. "I'm guessing this isn't how we were going to meet the parents?"

"Not in the slightest and- Oh come on! No one needs to know that mum!" I shout at the tv along side Chandler when mum mentions about the kung pow chicken before dropping the bomb about coming to New York making Chandler look at me with wide eyes. "I tried to tell you first, remember that." I say and he nods before dropping into one of the kitchen chairs with a groan of his own.

"You're getting her from the airport." He tells me and I groan slightly but nod all the same making him smile slightly at me. "At least it's not dad."

"Oh god don't! I somehow got roped into dinner with him when I go to Las Vegas for work next month." I tell him and he winces at that making the others look between us confused. "I'll get her from the airport and she can stay with me. That doesn't mean you get out of meals and doing things with her though."

"I can agree to that y/n and it can't be too bad. I mean it's only a few days, how bad can it be?" He asks and I nod with a smile making him relax in his seat while I lean back into Joey more as I close my eyes. "You'll end up falling asleep if you stay like that."

"Which is perfectly fine by me and I can carry her across to the apartment if needs be." Joey says and I chuckle at that as I look up at him before taking Chandler's ice cream and stealing some. "I was actually thinking we could go get a quick dinner and then call it a night. What do you say?"

"I'm in." Monica says which is then followed by everyone else making me and Joey share a look. "You meant just you and y/n didn't you?" She asks and he waves it off before grabbing the phone to order pizza making her wince slightly. "Sorry. It's still hard to wrap my head around Joey dating someone and wanting to do things with that one person." She tells me as I pass the carton back to Chandler and I just smile at her as I nod in understanding because it's still hard to believe the the one time player had settled down with little old me.

*Timeskip*

Sitting talking to Monica and Rachel while Joey's away at the bathroom and mum's checking her messages I jump when Joey comes back to the table only seconds after leaving. Looking at him confused he shakes his head as he takes my hand and pulls me out of the restaurant making me look at him confused. "Hey, what's going on? Has mum said or done something weird or inappropriate? Because while I definitely can't blame her I-" I start to ramble but he cuts me off with a quick kiss before shaking his head lightly.

"No, not to me anyway. I just saw her kissing Ross outside the toilets." He says and I look at him shocked before shaking my head at him because that's just preposterous. Why would mum kiss Ross of all people? "I'm being serious y/n I was about to go into the bathroom and there they were by the phone kissing!"
