MEH...MEH..MEH!
I blinked open my eyes and shut off my alarm clock. I moaned and sat up skwinting at the sun through my window. I stretched my arms over my head and yawned. "What to wear today..." I thought while opening my closest door. I grabbed a white v-neckt!shirt and light blue skinny jeans and threw them on. I walked into my bathroom and looked in the mirror. "What to do with my hair" I said out loud. I decided to brush it out and curl it. After I finished I walked down stairs and into the kitchen for breakfast.
First period started and ended along with every other until school was over. After school me and my best friend, Jessica, went to my house. I borrowed a lighter from my step mom and we started a small fire in my backyard despite the wind. " ok Nicole we got it going now we need to keep it going." Said Jessica trying to block the wind.
" And how should we do that?" I asked " no matter how much wood we have the wind is still going to try and blow out the fire" Jessica looked around a moment.
" you have bricks " she said and got up and walked to a pile of dirty red bricks. She picked up two and carried them to our fire , placing them around the flames.
" good idea" I said walking over and grabbing bricks. "But the wind is still getting to the fire"
" oh well" Jessica shrugged. My half brother had been making everything difficult. He was annoying me, but he has annoyed me ever science he was born to the point where the sound of his voice is like nails on a chock board. He started trying to rosy marshmallows while Jessica and I tried to keep the fire alive.
" nock it off!" I snapped at him. He ignored me like always. Jessica and I decided to just let the fire die because her parents were on their way. She was going to go home and get clothes, toothbrush, etc. then come back. While she was packing we went to the store to buy ice cream and some other stuff.
We got back right as Jessica did. The rest of the night was rather boring despite the company of my best friend. She fell asleep before me like she always did when we spent the night with each other. I snuck into the bathroom and sat on the counter. I shut the door and turned on the light so I could see better. I looked at my eyes in the mirror and quietly gasped. My brown/green eyes had turned blue. A mesmerizing shade of blue that I thought was the best blue in the world. They looked like fresh water running off of ice that was almost glowing on the inside. I smiled and just about leaped with joy I loved them so much. I didn't know how they changed color but to me it didn't matter.
I wondered what my family would do, what every one that knew me would do. I shook my head to clear my thoughts. I shut off the light and opened the door with a yawn. I almost tripped over my own feet while I was walking to my bed. I laid my head down on my pillow and let all my thoughts drift off.
when I woke up Jessica had already got out of bed and got dressed. I thought that my eyes changing color had just been a dream and oddly didn't check because of fear that they would be brown/green once more. I grabbed a black V-neck shirt and white skinny jeans out of my closet then walked into my bathroom to get dressed. Before I walked out I decided to look in the mirror. I almost screamed with delight when I saw that it hadn't been a dream. Jessica looked at my funny when I walked out. She hadn't seen my eyes yet and I was anxious to see what she would do.
"Are you ok?" she asked staring at me.
"yeah, in fact I'm better than ever." I said smiling "checkout my eyes" I said and looked at her so she could see them. She smiled looking at my eyes.
"you got new contacts huh?" she asked with a stating tone in her voice. I shook my head no. "oh, well I've never seen them before."
"I'm not wearing contacts" I said. Jessica looked at me in disbelief. she looked at my eyes closer and realized I wasn't lying. The look in her eyes was so confused I wanted to shake her shoulders and snap her out of it.
"Earth to Jessica!" I said, waving my hand in front of her face. " Come on lets go get break fast."
The rest of the day was full of nothingness. When Jessica went home around 6:30 that night I decided to sit out back for a while. The moon was being covered be clouds but it's light still shined through them. A breeze blew my hair into my face and I nearly choked on some. I coughed and stuck out my tounge. "yuck" I said out loud. About an hour later I decided to go inside for bed.
