"Marry me."

For a moment, you had thought that you heard it wrong. But then his words began to sink in, and your eyes widened when you realised what he was doing. Caught by surprise, you started laughing. An incredulous laugh that came out as a genuine reaction filled with shock and disbelief. And you could only stop when all he merely did was to look at you with a small smile, with a look saying that he was not joking around.

"What?" you asked him once you sobered up. "What are you saying?"

While you were experiencing a wave of emotions all at once from his sudden offer, the expression on Yoongi's face didn't seem to change. His smile only deepened. As if saying the words out loud and seeing your reaction only gave him a sense of clarity.

"I am offering you a hand in marriage."

Scoffing, you started shaking your head. But you quickly stopped when you realised that he sounded genuine, which was terrifying but, at the same time, it piqued your interest that you wanted to continue listening to what he had to say.

"I'm not following."

Yoongi took a deep breath before he began sharing what he had in mind. "______," he began, "I know that your father's company has been hovering close on the red line for the past three to four years. They could barely avoid their downfall right before you came back to the city and that somehow, the turbulence which happened in the stock market thanks to my brother's stupidity was dragging them down with it."

You said nothing and nodded, recalling the emergency phone call you received when you were made to return home to lend a hand with your father's business.

"The only reason why your father never thought of selling out his company to a more stable establishment or someone with a higher stance to keep it floating was all thanks to the magical hands and mind of your late fiancé. He's the reason why your father's company is still standing strong among others," he continued, omitting the fact that due to the sudden turbulence in the industry, your father's company had somehow maintained its position and even threatened to rival the leading company of Min family's business chain despite it being on the rocks.
