“Let’s go, sweetie,” Sylus said with a wink, his tone as smooth as ever.

I nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and trepidation as we headed back to our rooms to freshen up. Sylus mentioned meeting outside, so I did as he asked. When I stepped out, I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the sight of him sitting on a sleek motorbike, the kind that looked like it belonged in a spy movie.

“Hmmm… when did you get the time to buy a bike?” I asked, curiosity lacing my voice.

He didn’t respond verbally. Instead, he just reached over, plucked my sun hat right off my head, and tossed it aside without a second thought. Before I could protest, he placed a helmet on my head, securing it carefully. His expression was a mix of amusement and determination, clearly indicating that this was non-negotiable.

“Get on,” he urged, his voice leaving no room for argument.

I sighed, giving in to his antics as I adjusted my sundress, ensuring it wouldn’t get caught in the bike’s mechanisms. With one last glance at the discarded sun hat, I swung my leg over and settled behind him, gripping onto him tightly as he revved the engine.

We drove along the coastline, the salty breeze tangling in my hair as we sped past the open sea. The ride was exhilarating, and the landscape was breathtaking. The ocean shimmered under the afternoon sun, its endless horizon a mesmerizing sight. For a moment, I allowed myself to relax and enjoy the ride, letting the stress of the past few days melt away.

But as we continued to drive, I couldn’t help but notice the increasingly remote surroundings. The buildings and beachgoers became sparse, replaced by rugged cliffs and untamed wilderness. We seemed to be heading into the middle of nowhere, which only heightened my curiosity.

Eventually, we arrived at what appeared to be a resort, though it was unlike any I’d ever seen. Nestled in a secluded, almost hidden location, the resort was grand and luxurious, yet oddly ominous in its isolation.

“Sylus, why would anyone build a resort here? It’s in the middle of nowhere,” I asked, glancing around at the unfamiliar terrain.

“It’s supposed to be a very exclusive resort,” Sylus explained, pulling off his helmet. “The only way to get here is to be invited, and they’re very picky with their guests.”

I followed suit, reaching up to remove my helmet, but he stopped me with a firm hand.

“You might want to keep that on, sweetie,” he said, his tone serious. “You don’t want them to see your face.”

“Why?” I asked, my heart skipping a beat at his cryptic warning. But as usual, Sylus didn’t answer.

We approached the massive gate that guarded the entrance to the resort. It was imposing, with tall, wrought-iron bars and an intricate design that spoke of wealth and exclusivity. Sylus led the way with the kind of confidence that made it seem like he belonged there, even though something told me otherwise.

“So, Sylus, did you get invited to this super-exclusive resort?” I asked, trying to mask the nervous energy building in my chest.

“No,” he said casually, as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

My excitement faltered. “But you are,” he added with a sly grin, turning to face me.

“Wait, what?! How did I even get invited to something like this? I’m neither rich nor famous,” I said, bewildered by his revelation.

Sylus’s smirk only widened. “Relax. I didn’t use your real identity—I made you a new one and borrowed your body,” he said with a mischievous glint in his eye.
