The party was in full swing when you got there, some 90s R&B singer's voice crooned through the speakers, LED lights setting a mood similar to the club. "This is what was so important for me to experience?"

"Don't be a vibe killer, you just got here." She pulled your coat off and you instantly hugged yourself. "I'm gonna go find us some drinks but for now, go mingle."

You watched as she walked away, cursing her for dragging you here. You rubbed your arms as you walked around, avoiding the gyrating bodies that had no awareness other than the person they were dancing on. You finally found a corner and settled there, silently observing the crowd.

"You new?" A voice asked, pulling you from your thoughts. A quick look confirmed you did not know the guy. He was tall, not as tall as H/N but tall enough for your neck to ache when you looked up at him. He was almost bald and had both his ears pierced. His green eyes were sharp as he looked at you.  A red solo cup was held in hand, and he was slightly swaying on his feet. Just great. "I'd remember your face if I saw you at one of these parties."

"Not new to campus but new here I guess." You hoped that response would be enough to deter him away but that hope died when he helped himself to the seat next to you.

"What do you think?" He asked as he held an arm out. "It's pretty lit, eh?"

You smiled tightly and nodded. "Lit. Yeah."

He held his cup out to you. "Wanna sip?"

"I'm good." Where was she? You tapped your foot, hoping that would make the time go by faster.

"Do I make you nervous?" You glanced at him and saw his gaze was focused on your bouncing knee. "I always make girls nervous."

"And you think that's a good thing?" You bit out before you could control yourself. Calm down, he's not worth it.

His eyes narrowed as he stared at you before he tried to cover it up with a fit of laughter but unfortunately for him, you had already seen the facade drop. "You're a very...interesting girl. Wanna dance?" He asked with a gesture towards the makeshift dance floor in the living room, shifting the subject easily.

"Connor," a voice called out. H/N appeared out of nowhere like the hero in some cheesy movie. His mouth was tight as he stared at the bothersome guy who you now knew was named Connor.

"Uh uh," Connor said as he took a sip of his drink. "This one's all mine."

H/N sighed and rubbed his forehead. "There's so many things wrong with what you just said, dude."

"Whatever, she's frigid anyways." He spat out before storming off to probably harass someone else.

He turned to you. "Ignore him. He's just on edge because he just got dumped. You okay?"

"I'm cold," the dress your bsf had you in suddenly felt like it was slowly growing tighter and swallowing you whole.

Without a word, Hs shrugged off his zip up sweatshirt, revealing a loose fit black tee underneath and handed it to you. The smell of tea tree met your nostrils as you put it on and zipped it up, relishing in the bubble his scent created. "Thanks." You silently observed him, letting your gaze travel over his arms which were...nice.

"Don't fall asleep on me now, the night's still young," he teased as he took the seat that was now thankfully empty. His hair was slightly disarray and you wondered if it was because someone ran their hands through them. The sudden thought scared you so you shook it away and hugged yourself.

"So, about that session you owe me. Can I claim it anytime?" He had his legs stretched in front of him and crossed at the ankle. The casualty of his laid back position brought you some comfort.
