The wind is a little chilly as Eunho sits on the stairs in front of the dorm with a warm coffee cup in his hand. It turned out, Hamin finished unpacking his things around afternoon, so they went for lunch and then coffee after. But on their way back, Hamin abruptly stopped and told Eunho to go back first. Eunho did question why, but Hamin only said he wanted to do something. And now that he's already reached the dorm, he didn't feel like going in and decided to enjoy the warm coffee on this windy evening.
He sat there and looked around while sipping coffee. An old tree right across the building, a wooden bench under it. Bushes of flowers surrounded the tree, some kinds of red and yellow flowers bloomed. People going in and out of the front door, some looking excited, some nervous. Probably a freshman just like him. And moments later, in the distance, he spots a familiar pink-haired guy walking towards the dorm. The same exact clothes as this morning except now that person is carrying a guitar case on his back.
“Hyung!” Eunho stands up in a hurry. He felt his mood lightening up at the sight of his hyung.
As Bamby approaches, Eunho walks towards Bamby. They met under the old tree.
“What are you doing sitting there?” Bamby asks.
“Nothing, I was just enjoying my coffee.”
“Ah, okay. Continue enjoying your coffee then.” Bamby says and tries to walk past Eunho, but Eunho blocks him again.
“What is it?” Bamby asks in an annoyed tone.
“Um, no. I was waiting for you. I thought I might get to see hyung if I waited there for a little while.”
Bamby shifts in his stand. “So? What if I hadn't come?”
“Well, I only planned to wait until I finished my coffee…” he waves the coffee cup in his hand, “Hyung, it's been a long time.”
Bamby clicks his tongue. “It's only been like what? A year? Don't get so dramatic.”
“I wasn't trying to be dramatic and it's been a year and a half. Don't you miss me? I missed hyung though. You didn't contact me at all.” Eunho's voice was coated with a hint of sadness.
“Hey, I was busy. College entrance exams, and… and some other things. You were busy too.” Bamby looking everywhere but Eunho.
Eunho does not say a single word, he keeps his eyes on Bamby and when their eyes finally connect, Bamby stutters on his words. “A–A…Anyway! We’ll see more of each other now right? We're not kids anymore, you really wanna fight over things like this?” Bamby continues to dart his eyes around, avoiding Eunho’s.
Eunho narrows his eyes. “Hyung… this has nothing to do with whether we're still kids or not. And I think it is right for me to get angry over this. A year and a half is a long time—” Eunho fell silent before he could finish his sentence, ‘this is so unfair…’ he thought.
Eunho could see the uneasiness on his hyung’s face. The peachy tint of his skin turning a little pale, the cold sweat that is forming on his forehead. Eunho takes a deep breath and lets out. He lets out a grunt that sounded so much like a little kid that got his candy stolen. “Hyung! Fine. I'll let you win this time. I'll forgive you if you eat lunch with me for a week!”
Bamby shoulders relaxed a little. “What did you say? You let me win? You brat!” Bamby sighs. “Fine, I'll eat lunch with you. I'll even treat you to your favorite. There's a restaurant two streets from the University that sells a good—”
“Did you try it?”
“Huh? N-No! A friend did! He just told me afterwards!”
“Ahhh, is that so. Then, I can't wait for tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow? No, tomorrow we'll just meet at the cafeteria.”
“Okay! Just text me tomorrow. Oh that's right… hyung, did you change your phone number?”
“What? No, I didn't.” Bamby answers confusedly.
Eunho falls silent for a short moment. He forms a small smile and says “Is that so, then, hyung… please unblock my number.”
Bamby flinches and his eyes widen a little. “W-What are you saying? You punk! Anyway, I should get going. It's getting colder soon, get inside quickly!”
“Yes! You can go in first, please don't forget to unblock my number!”
Bamby moves past Eunho and yells “I didn't block it! Oii! You're saying nonsense!”
“What nonsense? I think it's the truth though!”
“Ahh! Shut up Eunho!” Bamby shuts both his ears with his palms. He walks fast towards the dorm.
Eunho is left dumbfounded looking at Bamby walking off to the dorms. He lets out a deep sigh and rubs the back of his head. He brings the cold coffee cup to his lips only to realize the cup is empty. The stains on the cup appear dry. He's been holding the cup, not even a drop spilled. When did he drink all of the coffee? He never noticed. He throws the cup away in the trash bin near the dorm door and walks in. In his mind, although he knows that both of them still have a lot of things that need to be addressed, right now, he's only excited for the week he'll be spending lunches with Bamby.
