Prologue
The apartment was eerily quiet, except for the soft hum of the air conditioning. A single photograph sat on the coffee table—a snapshot of better days. Taehyung stared at it, the ghost of a smile on his lips, before he set it down gently. Memories of laughter, whispered confessions, and endless promises circled in his mind like vultures over prey.
But now, it was just him.
Alone.
Flashback: The Glory Days
"Yoongi-hyung, smile!" Taehyung beamed, holding up his phone to capture a candid shot of Yoongi who rolled his eyes but eventually complied.
"Fine, but just this once," Yoongi muttered, but a small grin played on his lips.
Their relationship was a secret, known only to their members. They were happy, tangled in each other's warmth every night after grueling schedules. Their love was a sanctuary, a bubble where nothing could touch them.
"Promise me you'll never leave me," Taehyung whispered one night, his fingers tracing the tattoos on Yoongi's arm.
"I promise, Tae," Yoongi replied, pressing a kiss to Taehyung's forehead.
The Cracks Begin to Show
But promises can be broken.
Over time, Yoongi felt restless. The love he once felt started to feel like a burden, and his mind drifted. He convinced himself that what he and Taehyung had was no longer what he wanted. He found temporary solace in someone else, someone who wasn't Taehyung.
And that's when everything crumbled.
The confrontation was ugly. Screaming, accusations, tears, and shattered trust. Taehyung's heart shattered as Yoongi admitted his infidelity.
"You... you cheated?" Taehyung's voice was barely above a whisper, as if saying it louder would make it more real.
Yoongi couldn't meet his gaze. "I'm sorry... I thought I didn't love you anymore."
Those words were like a dagger to Taehyung's heart.
"I was just a fling, Yoongi?" Tears streamed down Taehyung's cheeks. "You said you'd never leave me."
Yoongi clenched his fists, the guilt eating away at him, but at that moment, he was too blinded by his confusion to reach out and console Taehyung.
"We're done," Taehyung said, his voice breaking. "Get out."
And Yoongi did. He walked out of Taehyung's life, leaving the younger man to pick up the shattered pieces of his heart.
The Aftermath
Years passed, and Yoongi tried to move on. He even dated another member from their band, but it was never the same. His thoughts always drifted back to Taehyung—the warmth of his embrace, the softness of his laugh, the love in his eyes. But it was too late. Taehyung was out of reach.
Meanwhile, Taehyung's world spiraled into darkness. He could barely eat, barely sleep. His health deteriorated until he was a shadow of his former self. The other members tried their best to comfort him, but the void left by Yoongi's absence was too deep.
One night, Taehyung stood at the edge of the balcony, looking down at the bustling city below. He wondered if the pain would ever go away – if he would ever stop missing Yoongi. He closed his eyes, letting the tears fall freely, and took a step forward...
