Part 4 - Proxies

Proxies, workers for the Slenderman. They carry out missions, doing things that he says to, sometimes even doing stuff of their own motives. But, the bigger question, what are they?

Nobody knows for sure what they are. Some speculate that they are humans like us, or even just humans with special abilities. Others say that they're alike to ghosts, spirits of another realm. A few even think that they're neither, or both, an amalgamation of the two, or something that defies the boundary of what we know and percieve.

I personally think that they're nonhuman entities. Sure, they can take on human forms, but the majority of the time they exist like a ghost. We can't see them when they're watching, unless they choose so. I believe most of them show themselves either to scare us or because they're curious to how we'll react. However, some people are able to feel their energy.

If they work for the Slenderman, that must mean he is the boss. If they take on usual human dynamics, there must be a hierarchy of sorts. Do others rank higher than the others, or are they all equals?

Some people think there are high-ranking and low-ranking proxies. Most of the time, Masky, Hoody, Jeff, EJ, and Toby are put near the top. Newer recruits and those who don't do as much are seen as lower ranking. Sometimes, the ones at the top have more power and abilities than the ones at the bottom, or even have special privileges.

I don't think there are certain rankings for the proxies. Sure, the Slenderman is at the top, but otherwise they're pretty much equal. Some might be stronger and able to do more, but that depends on themselves and not because of their boss. Experienced proxies might train recruits, but only to show then what to do and how. I think they're all allowed to do whatever they want as long as they get their missions done and they don't go against the Slenderman.
