The Rein Within

The world outside is painted gray,
A canvas washed with endless rain.
But the storm within me rages on,
A tempest of sorrow, a constant pain.

Each drop that falls upon the pane,
Mirrors the tears that I can't restrain.
A symphony of silence, a mournful tune,
A heart that's broken, a spirit subdued.

The echoes of laughter, once so bright,
Now fade to whispers, lost in the night.
The warmth of love, a distant flame,
Leaving behind only ashes and shame.

I search for solace in the fading light,
But find only darkness, a lonely plight.
The rain falls harder, a relentless beat,
Drowning my hopes, sealing my defeat.

Yet, even in this desolate despair,
A flicker of hope, a fragile prayer.
Perhaps someday the storm will subside,
And the sun will shine, on the other side.
