Nights were never so stressful for Jeonghan. Even in this line of work, he couldn't care less about the consequences of his actions, as he never made any mistakes in his work. Also, he made sure not to have any enemies so he could sleep peacefully without worrying about his life. Not this time, though. He made sure Seungcheol was locked up properly in his room before allowing his men to go home. But he still stayed in the building with Wonwoo since they basically lived in their hideout.
The man with glasses allowed himself to rest, and for him, resting meant staying up late and spending time on social media or playing games on his old PC.
For Jeonghan, it was different. He sat quietly in his room on a small bed with metal casing as he stared at a blank wall.
"I hope it's a bad dream. It can't be real."
He thought to himself as he tried to calm his thoughts. It shouldn't be possible. It couldn't be real. How could he have kidnapped such a dangerous man by mistake? It had to be a joke.
The minutes passed as he continued to convince himself that it was all just a dream.
Meanwhile, Seungcheol desperately tried to break the ropes tying him up, but it was futile.
Jeonghan was smarter than that. He had made sure Seungcheol was tied up at least three times with the strongest ropes he could possibly find.
The mafia leader groaned in pain as the rough material rubbed his skin, leaving a red, burning mark on it. It had to be a joke, right?
They both couldn't sleep that night, for entirely different yet similar reasons.
In the end, Jeonghan slept for only an hour in total, while Seungcheol fell asleep for only a few minutes, just to be woken up by the uncomfortable position he was in.
Late in the morning, they met again. Jeonghan was carrying a small tray of food, which held pancakes that he had made himself, as well as a glass of water.
His mind was occupied with worries. He was afraid that somehow, Seungcheol had managed to free himself. But as soon as he saw the man sitting on the same chair as the previous day, he felt relieved.
Jeonghan placed the tray of food on the floor before exiting the room again.
Seungcheol wanted to yell as soon as he saw that. How could he leave food there, so close yet so far away from him, just right out of his reach?
However, to his surprise, the man came back after a while with a chair, placing it in front of Seungcheol backwards, so his elbows could rest directly in front of him as he straddled the back of the object.
Seungcheol furrowed his eyebrows, visibly dissatisfied with the actions of his kidnapper.
"So, how did you sleep?"
Jeonghan spoke up, taking the tray to put it on his knees. He teased his captive by slowly drinking a few sips of water while the other man was parched.
"Let me go now, and I won't be so hard on you.
Seungcheol spoke, his voice clearly strained from dehydration. His stomach rumbled, further embarrassing him. His jaw clenched slightly as he tried to hide his frustration as best as he possibly could.
"What? Must I repeat myself again? I will not let you go unless you agree to my terms. Is that clear?"
The smaller man responded, holding a cup of water in his hand, as he continued to look at the face before him.
Seungcheol didn't speak up for a good while. The only sound escaping his lips was a quiet "tsk" as he considered the determination of the factotum.
"I won't agree to your demands. You're playing a dangerous game here. You know my men will find me sooner or later, don't you?"
