As I was finishing my packing, I thought of how he'd look like? I knew very minimal details from Social Media. Nate was the type of guy that had many friends that were girls but no girlfriend. I went and stalked him before sleeping and I realized that he posted a picture with a girl I haven't seen before with a caption full of hearts. Is she his girlfriend? If not who is she? Another friend? But what if she is? How long have they been dating her for? Does he not trust me enough to tell me? Have we become that distant? All these questions were using in my mind but I was about to figure that out tomorrow.
The morning finally came. I was all ready and prepared to go to the airport and my parents told me that we will be meeting them at the gate and we will be travelling together to California. I had no make up and I looked terrible but I didn't care because he had already seen me in my PJs before getting out of bed, he was like a brother I never had. A brother that is possible to love more than a brother. As we were walking down, a lot of people at the airport, my eyes met him first. There he is, all perfect. His OCEAN BLUE eyes that you could get lost in, blonde hair and I also realized that he had lost weight. My heart was beating faster as we were approaching them. I told myself to have fun and forget about all the drama with him. As I was saying hi to everyone, he had finally looked up at me. "Hey" I said.
"Hi! How are you?"
"Fine, what about you?"
"I'm good." Nate said.
We had to wait for the airplane to come. Meanwhile, it was pretty awkward between us. I had scrolled through my playlist to see if I was missing any songs.
A drop in the ocean by Ron Pope
Best Mistake by Ariana Grande
Little do you know by Alex and Sierra
All in my head by Tori Kelly
Jar of hearts by Christina Perri
Love will remember by Selena Gomez
A thousand years by Christina Perri
Thinking of you by Katy Perry
These were my favorite songs because they explain my story, my life.
"Flight 0487 to California will be boarding now." The P.A said.
"That's our flight!" My mom uttered.
"Let's go have some fun!!" His mother said standing up.
When we arrived to the plane my seat and Nate's were at the end, next to each other.
We got settled in, and put on our seatbelt.
Take off was done and we were halfway through the trip. I was sitting next to the window and he was sitting right beside me. He had been watching non-stop movies for hours and haven't even once tried to talk to me. I just knew that he wasn't interested in me. He probably has a girlfriend, and I wanted to find out.
After the second movie finished he had started to talk to me.
"What are you listening to?" He said softly.
"A Thousand Years" I said not looking at him.
"Can I listen?" Nate said.
"Sure..."
I gave Nate my earphones, he listened to the song and he didn't say a word after. I knew that it would happen, the song is too personal.
"I've missed you" he finally said, staring into my eyes.
"Me too" I said although, I knew that he probably says those words to every other girl.
He put his hand on my knee which seemed like days, weeks, hours.
We had finally landed. As we were at the airport I see my best friend from Florida, Lily, I rushed to hug her.
