Fishy Fiasco

Chapter 2

I arrived at the museum that held the jewel KID is planning on stealing, the building was already packed with police. Nakamori undoubtedly trying to set up everything in a desperate attempt to catch KID, but I have all we'll be needing. But unfortunately I needed Nakamori's help to set it up as I couldn't reach where I wanted it to go and he had control over the equipment.

"Nakamori" "Oh Hakuba, what do you want?" He asked his voice laced with annoyance. "I need you to help me set something up that will help us catch KID you may be confused but you'll understand once I explain." He looked at me slightly curious "Sure come over here and tell me your plan." I walked over to where he was stood and he shooed away the surrounding officers, most likely intrigued in my plan. "Go on." He said once I reached him. I pulled out the fish and told him,"I have a suspicion KID is scared of fish so why don't we hang this up with string then go hide around the room and wait for kid to arrive, and then when he appears we'll cut the string connecting to the fish and he'll be startled and shocked and then we jump at him whilst he's not expecting it. And even if he's not afraid he'll still be very confused by the falling fish giving us an opportunity to catch him."

He stared at me as if I was mad than he looked like he was actually considering the idea before finally coming to a conclusion and saying "Okay we'll try your idea, but it better work." He looked at me sternly. "Okay thank you."

And with that we got everything set up and waited untill midnight. When the time finally came a poof of smoke appeared with KID inside. At first he looked confused as to where the guards were but then just accepted it and jumped down to get the jewel. I gave the signal to drop the fish. "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH WHERE DID THIS DEMON SPAWN COME FROM!!!!" He screamed as he jumped back in horror, I couldn't help but laugh a bit at the so called greatest theif in Japan scream like that for a fish. But Nakamori and his officers wasted no time jumping out at him KID even more confused than before tried to get away but was pinned by officers. I came out from my hiding spot and asked them to move. But when they did KID wasn't there and instead a random officer was being pinned down. I looked to the jewel and that was gone to.

Nakamori was just as surprised and sent his men and himself in all directions trying to find him. I stayed put though, I knew it was futile chasing him now but the look on his face when he saw the fish was priceless, I can't wait to do it again for Aoko's photo. But on a more serious note we still failed to catch him which means I'll have to try and think of something else for the future.

Once the chase was over Nakamori came back and kicked the ground. Clearly frustrated by his defeat, but once he calmed down a bit and looked to me and asked "How did you know KID was scared of fish?" I wasn't quite sure how to respond before deciding on going with "Just a hunch." Nakamori sighed and responded "It doesn't matter anyway we failed again."

POOF

A small cloud of smoke and confetti appeared Infront of us with the jewel and the note inside. The note read 'not what I am looking for, you can have it back.' with KID's signature drawing in the bottom corner "KIIIIIDD!!" Nakamori suddenly screamed in frustration. But thinking about KID does do this quite a lot he steals something returns it saying it's 'not what he's looking for' but in that case, what is he looking for?
