THURSDAY
Jen woke up an hour after Ted left for work.
As she showered she did not feel the telltale residue of his ejaculation. As she stood and soaped her body she replayed their lovemaking, then blushed and realized what had happened.
"I'm going to have to make that up to you, love," she said.
The chat rooms had not changed much. The postings hadn't been updated. As she read Jen noticed that many of them were more than a year old. The woman who claimed her husband was a demon hadn't posted anything in months. Silently Jen wondered if she had survived.
Well, she told herself, I'm young, and strong. And even if he is a demon, the man inside is Ted, and he loves me. As long as I keep him happy he won't hurt me.
"Thank you, Doctor."
Ted hung up and stared at the sticky note on his desk. Dr. Charles Callahan had an address not far from the duplex. I know that building, Ted thought. I drive by it every day. Doctors, dentists, financial planners. Right next to the grocery store that sells exotic and Asian foods, or so their sign says. He huffed, then wondered if he should make an appointment for her.
"No." Let her show me she's not crazy, he thought. Let her show me she's recovering. And if she still sees me as a demon, then I'll take her there myself even if I have to wrap her up in duct tape to get her there.
That evening she fried two hamburgers in their small pan and baked a cookie sheet of frozen French fries. They ate in companionable silence, talking little.
Ted no longer felt the affects of, for him, was an unsuccessful session of lovemaking the night before. He'd been patient with her before, and knew that things would even out before too long. Besides, he thought, if she's cooking for me perhaps she'll want to reset the scales tonight.
Once again nine o'clock came around. That night, Ted clicked off the boob tube and wrapped his arms around his beloved. She responded with warm kisses and intertwined tongues. And once again they moved to the bedroom leaving their clothing trailing behind them.
As they laid, naked and embracing, she could feel how aroused he had become. She felt him lean onto her and try to climb on top of her, and, on any other night, she would have eagerly complied. But that night she resisted.
After a kiss, he pulled back from her and looked at her. "What's wrong?"
"I want to try something," she whispered.
He didn't move but didn't pull away.
She maneuvered him onto his back, then leaned down and began to pleasure him with her lips and tongue.
He groaned.
Ted knew she was a novice at this, and did his best to direct her. After a short time they found a rhythm that pleased them both. Soon he felt the tide begin to grow and knew she'd never brought him to climax this way before. As she continued to work on him a fleeting thought passed through his mind: how would she react if he filled her mouth?
She sensed the thickening of his shaft and quickened the pace. He grabbed a handful of her hair and couldn't help but convulse with his hips. Seconds later he peaked and squirted into her mouth. Without hesitation she gulped down his fluids.
Ted groaned with relief and pleasure.
Jen gulped again, thinking the sound would please him. She was right. For a few moments he laid still and felt that pleasant buzz in his pelvis.
Jen sat up and looked at him. She slurped loudly and chuckled. A second later her face contorted. Then she scrambled off the bed and bolted for the bathroom. Another second and he could hear her throwing up.
"Not so good for you, I guess."
Then he realized that, before they had begun kissing, he had used the bathroom and drained his bladder. Maybe there was still urine left in his plumbing and it went into her stomach with his fluids. He remembered a college room-mate warning him not to go down on a girl after she urinated.
"Oh boy," he murmured.
