Almost an entire week passed since Iida's visit to the hospital, and that week felt like one of the longest in his entire life.
Immediately following the end of exams, class 1-A went right back into its usual routine—though with a number of interesting developments. News was officially confirmed on Monday morning that the students would be able to take on internships—something that Iida had personally already anticipated and made preparations for. This time though, the majority of the class would be expected to participate, so that meant that everyone was once again thrown into chaos as they all scrambled to figure out where they were going to sign up.
On a separate, slightly unrelated note, the Friday prior to any of this, word got out that Midoriya and Bakugo had apparently gotten into a late-night skirmish shortly after the exams. Apparently it'd happened after everyone had gone to bed—which honestly, when Iida found out, he was nothing short of disappointed. Midoriya had already been having enough conflicts lately with Todoroki over—well, whatever their situation was (he wasn't entirely sure himself); to think he'd go and pick a fight with Bakugo shortly after the last mess had gotten resolved. Needless to say, Iida wasn't very sympathetic when he and Bakugo were put on house arrest for the next few days.
Classes resumed as they always did though, and by Thursday, Midoriya was allowed to come back onto campus as promised. That turned out to be the day the class was introduced to UA's big three: Togata Mirio, Hado Nejire, and Amajiki Tamaki; and rather than being formally introduced to the students like expected, the class ended up experiencing a collective... hazing, of sorts, by the strongest of the three, Togata. Essentially he challenged the entire class to a match, and won.
By Friday afternoon, Aizawa gave one last update regarding the internship information, and then everyone was sent on their way to do whatever they pleased for the upcoming weekend.
"So I guess... internships," Kaminari sighed, lolling his head back in his chair as the others started to pack up their bags, "Does anyone have a clue what they're gonna do about them...?"
Across the room, Midoriya shrugged—already quick to sling his bag over his shoulder, "I'm off to talk to All—erm, one of the teachers for more information. Apparently the hero I studied under last time isn't interested in taking interns right now, but I might be able to get a referral if I'm lucky. I have to hurry, though."
"Sounds complicated already," Kaminari moped, to which Midoriya nodded before quickly crossing the room.
He was stopped for a moment by Uraraka though, which Iida found mildly interesting. If he remembered correctly, it hadn't been too long ago when Midoriya had told him that he had feelings for her. They had seemed closer these past few days, and there were a few rumors springing up in whispers, but were they true...?
He continued to eye them for a moment.
"Let's meet up after I'm done. I won't be too long," Midoriya smiled, and though it was very swift and subtle, Iida noticed him reach down to give her hand a gentle squeeze, "I-if that's alright with you, of course. I just want to hang out for a bit."
She grinned back at him, and leaned a tiny bit closer to whisper up close, "Sounds great."
They stared at each other for another moment—longer than seemed necessary, even, and then he stepped out of the room with a rather dopey look of glee now plastered on his face.
Iida raised an eyebrow high.
Well aren't they chummy. Guess I must've missed something at some point.
Looking back down at his desk however, Iida blinked to remember what he'd been doing, and then jolted when he finally recalled it.
Today's the day of Hatsume's reevaluation.
