Back at the hotel, the frantic search begins. Each of us dives into different rooms, tearing the place apart to find that damn bag. I'm in my room, rifling through drawers, tossing pillows, and flipping the mattress, hoping that maybe, somehow, it ended up here. Klaus and Ben are in the bar area, probably knocking over bottles in their search. Viktor and Five are scouring the living room. Diego and I have taken the bedrooms, searching every nook and cranny. But it's no use.
I let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through my hair as I leave my room. "Fuck!" I shout as I walk into the living room to meet with the others. The frustration is boiling over, and I can see it on everyone's faces.
"Guys, I'm telling you, I looked for it this morning before we left. It's not anywhere," Klaus says, his voice strained, still rummaging through the bar area like the bag is going to magically appear.
Viktor cups his face and falls back onto the couch in disbelief, looking like he's about to lose it.
Diego emerges from another room, coming to stand beside me. "Checked all of our rooms. Nothing," he says, his tone resigned.
Ben sighs heavily, walking over to join us in the living room. The tension in the air is thick, and everyone looks like they're on the verge of snapping.
"Ben, how much you got in the bank?" Diego asks, trying to keep a level head as Ben drops into a chair.
"About ten grand, maybe more," Ben replies, his voice flat.
"Well, you don't need it since you got married, so we're good on that cash," Diego says with a shrug.
"Whoa, hold on. I'm not giving up my money just to give it to some prick who has your idiot brother who couldn't find his way home," Ben snaps, standing up and getting in Diego's face.
I sigh, rubbing my temples. This is the last thing we need right now—everyone turning on each other when we should be working together.
"You're married to a hooker. You got money for days now," Diego shoots back, his tone biting.
"Haha, very funny," Ben retorts sarcastically, their argument escalating. I roll my eyes, feeling a headache coming on from all this chaos. I flop down on the couch next to Five, exhausted in every way possible.
"We're dead," I mutter, staring blankly at the wall. "They can't find the purse, Luther is being held captive, and Sloane will hate me forever." I say it to Five, but I can't even bring myself to look at him. The weight of everything is pressing down on me like a thousand pounds.
Five sits there silently for a moment, probably running a hundred different scenarios through his head, calculating our next move. I feel his hand reach for mine, squeezing it gently, a rare gesture of comfort from him. It's enough to pull me back, if only a little.
"We'll figure this out," he says quietly, his voice calm but firm. "We always do."
I turn to look at him, searching his face for some reassurance.
Five glances at me, his expression softening. "It's not your fault," he says, his voice gentler than before. "We're all in this mess together."
I sigh, shaking my head. "Yeah, but it feels like everything's spiraling out of control. I mean, how did we even end up here?"
Five chuckles softly, a small smile tugging at his lips. "A wild night in Vegas, apparently."
I roll my eyes but can't help the smile that sneaks onto my face. "Seriously, though. We don't even remember any of it. How did we manage to screw things up this badly?"
