Forever

Chapter 3

I kept thinking of a solution to my brother’s problem, I remembered that I had not told my boss that I would be coming late that day and I knew that I was going to receive the fourth query of the week. I was almost close to losing my job. I entered the office and was glad when I realized that my boss was not yet at work. My boss came in and saw me typing a letter she gave me the previous day. I got her morning coffee and used that opportunity to get something to eat.
   As I stuffed the cheese-burger I got from the cafeteria into my mouth, a guy walked up to me and said that another guy in the Ferrari across the street wanted to see me.            
      Forgetting that I had to give my boss her coffee, I followed the guy across the road and saw a handsome looking young man in his late twenties, wearing a three piece suit and a very expensive shoe. He also had a shiny Rolex wristwatch on his left hand- I wondered what such a handsome and rich guy wanted to see me for. Staring at me, the guy asked if I wanted anything to eat or drink. I didn’t know how to respond to such a polite man- he so much reminded me of the first time I met Lucian. I decided to ask for his name before anything so that he won’t suspect that I wanted to know more about him.
   The guy- Jason got a cocktail for me and freshly squeezed orange juice for himself. We talked for some time and I remembered that I had not given my boss her coffee. I hurriedly packed my stuff and told Jason that I needed to head back to my office. We exchanged numbers before I left and I felt very happy that for the first time in a very long time I got a guy after a long time- though nothing special like romance was discussed during the whole chat with Jason, but I knew I had this charm on guys so he’ll come around soon enough.   
By the time I reached my office, my boss was out and I decided to pack up.

   I entered the taxi and headed towards the hospital. The doctor invited me into his office and told me that my younger brother needed about five hundred thousand US dollars for a major surgery. How am I meant to get $500,000 when my monthly pay is just $7,000? I walked into the reception and decided to deposit the little cash I had with me. After depositing the cash, I received a call from the guy I met earlier who turned out to be Jason’s personal assistant. I picked the call and I was told that Jason wanted to speak with me. Jason’s voice came over the phone and we started talking. He figured that I sounded dull and asked why, I told him that my brother had chronic lung problem and he was dying. After the call, I received a text that stated that Jason sent me $700,000- I wondered how he got my account details and how he knew I needed a lot of money ( I didn’t tell him anything about the cash issue during the call conversation). I transferred the balance for the bill to the account details the receptionist gave me and waited for the surgery to get completed. While waiting, Jason came in and I couldn’t help but hug him- I really felt something for this guy, maybe it was gratitude.
   Two days after the surgery, Jason and I took Jeff home- I was on a leave from work because I had to stay home to take good care of my little brother. After putting Jeff to sleep, Jason and I got something to eat and started talking. He asked me if I had a boyfriend- I was about to tell him that Lucian was but I decided against it because the last time I saw Lucian was three years ago and I couldn’t claim that person as my boyfriend so I told him that I didn’t have one. He said I didn’t look like someone without a boyfriend because I was very beautiful, I felt flattered and started blushing- he noticed and smiled.
