"Good Morning honey, how are you feeling?" my moms raspy voice whispered.
I opened my eyes slightly and my vision went from a slight blur to its normal. I unnoticeably stretched both my arms and legs in chronological order.
"Mmm. Mom, I'm good what are you doing in my room? You never come in here."
"Guess." My mom was standing at the door with that smug look on her face.
"I don't know mom, I'm really tired can you please close the lights and shut the door and let me sleep?"
"It's 10am, that's way too late, you shouldn't even be sleeping this much. It's your birthday, it's August 30th. I've got a lot planned for you"
"Oh. Well I'd love to sleep more if that's fine."
"Oh come on, no. Breakfasts ready downstairs." She closed the door firmly and got out the door and went down stairs.
I got myself up and went to the bathroom while thinking of what my mother said earlier. She's got a lot planned? What does she mean? Where are we going? What are we doing?
"Tayyy get out of the bathroom I need to pee"
"James, there's a bathroom downstairs why don't you ever use that one?"
"I don't like that one. This ones bigger. Now get out"
My brother never fails to annoy me. I have to let him in or else he'll throw a huge tantrum, and it'll get me in trouble because he's younger and I somehow have to take responsibility for the messes that he creates. It's so unfair.
"Thanks, Sis. Oh, and Happy birthday pipsqueak"
"Thanks."
"I've got a present for you."
"Awww really you didn't have to"
I looked at him with a spark in my eye, this is because he never does anything for me. Today must really be a special day.
I stared at him for a few seconds and saw that he took out a few pebbles from his pocket.
"Oh they're really pre-"
He took out a slingshot and shot it at me before I could react and pushed me out of the way, while laughing, as he rushed into the bathroom and locked it.
"OW! You hit my stomach! What the hell James."
"ARE YOU AT LEAST GOING TO LET ME KEEP THE STUFF?" I shouted.
"No they're mine." He answered.
Wow, that's just great! He's probably one of the most immature person I know. He'll never leave me alone.
I made my way downstairs and by now I was surrounded by a lot of balloons and as I made my way to the kitchen I saw my mom and dad and my best friend Joanna standing with my cookie dough chocolate chip ice cream flavoured cake and it read: "Happy Birthday Taylor!"
I looked at them in awe.
"Hey Tay, Happy Birthday! Make a wish." Joanna spoke.
"Aw! Right now?"
"Yes" she replied while eagerly waiting for me to blow my birthday candles. I observed her and noticed that the icing was slowly melting on her hands.
"Okay, I better hurry. I wish that I can get a phone. I really want one. An IPhone." After I professed my wish I blew the candles.
"Yaaaayy" all of them chanted simultaneously and clapped.
