Rehearsal

It's the middle of biology class and suddenly Skye's phone goes off. Skye rushes to silence his phone as the entire class is staring at him. When Skye finally finds his phone in his bag, his face is red. "Sorry" Skye apologizes as the class continues.

Skye checks his phone and sees that he got a message from a group chat named "The Warblers". It was from Sebastian Smythe, the captain of the Warblers.

The difference is that Skye named Sebastian's contact as "✨️Smythe✨️" because Skye always expressed his feeling through contact names or nicknames.

Skye was super excited to get a text from Sebastian. To his disappointment it was only a reminder that they had rehearsal today from 4-7.

Skye did not want to go to rehearsal but he was excited to see Sebastian. Skye has had a crush on Sebastian since his freshman year, Sebastian was a sophmore. Now Skye is a junior and Sebastian is a Senior but Skye's feelings have only gotten stronger.

As Skye went through the rest of Bio all he could think about was singing with Sebastian. Sebastian's voice compared to that of Song Bird. Sebastian's voice made him feel like he could fly. Sebastian's voice made all his cares in the world go away. Sebastian's voice was heavenly. Skye has wanted to ask Sebastian to go out, even just hang out but he never had the balls.

Skye got to rehearsal early because he was always musically active. He loves anything music and he is really good at it. Skye is Sebastian's second in command but Skye is also the Drumline Captain of Dalton's Marching Band. Skye has been in Band for 6 years or since 6th grade and joined the Warbler's in his freshman year. But he has been in the musical arts since he was 6 and he loves it.

It's time for rehearsal and Sebastian isn't even there. All the Warblers start talking. "Where is he?" Says one. "What is he doing?" Another says. "He's the captain" says another. "He's probably at Scandals" Says one more. "We all know what he does at Scandals" Says the final one.

Skye doesn't hear anything else anybody else says because the thought of Sebastian at Scandals with somebody else hurts him.

"Guys. Guys! Since Sebastian isn't here I'm gonna lead us" Skye says gaining control of the situation. A freshman says "Who put you in charge?" I look over to see who said that. I chuckle quietly. "River, River, River. I'm in charge and if you have an issue you talk to Sebastian. Until then you can argue with me at home."

Everybody looks confused. "Everybody let me introduce David Bezzos. I call him River so if you ever hear me talk about River, that is who i'm talking about. He is a freshman and this is his first year in the Warblers. He is also my younger brother. Please treat him nicely. He's kinda awkward" Skye ruffles River's hair as he introduces River.

[RIVER: BROWN EYES, BROWN HAIR, FLUFFY HAIR, YOUNG]

"OK time to get back on track" Skye announces. Skye texts Sebastian frantically. "SEBASTIAN WHERE ARE YOU... REHEARSAL STARTED 10 MIN AGO... I'm gonna warm them up Hurry up."

Skye puts his phone away and makes announces "So because Sebastian hasn't picked a song to sing for regionals; I'm gonna choose a random song. Most of you should know the part, if you don't just follow along."

As uptown girl starts to play every body gets excited.

As the song ends Sebastian walks in
clapping. "It's about damn time" Skye states. "How was Scandals" "You don't look drunk" "Did you get what you were looking for" A couple Warblers joked.

As the Warblers were joking with Sebastian; Skye was checking his phone. He had a text from Sebastian "hey sorry I had to do something. won't do it again" A couple seconds later he receives another text from Sebastian "You seemed to have it covered<3"

Skye looks at Sebastian and Sebastian gives a smile to him. Most people wouldn't see it but Skye saw a little bit of pain in his eyes and that false smile would have fooled anybody but him.

Before Skye could go and ask Sebastian of something is wrong River asks"Who's Smythe~", unaware of Sebastian's last name. "Sebastian. Why?" Skye answers. "Why are there stars around his name?" River clueless. "Don't worry about it" Skye blushes "Go away you have stuff to work on".

Sebastian calls the Warblers together to talk. "You guys sound alright. You could have sounded better. Maybe if I was there" Sebastian jokes.

"How do you know that song anyway?" Sebastian looks over at Skye and asks. "Thats my favourite performance that I ever watched you and the Warblers perform. So I may or may not have learned it" Skye says a little embarrassed. "I might perform it better than you now" Skye says regaining confidence. "Whatever you say junior" Sebastian states with a chuckle.

"Now we really have to begin rehearsal" Sebastian regains control of the situation but doesn't forget to give a little smile to Skye.

As rehearsal comes to an end, Skye walks up to Sebastian a little hesitant. "Heyy Sebastian~" Skye sings. "What do you want?" Sebastian responds. Skye wants to ask what is wrong but doesn't feel like nows the time, so he does something he would ever do in a million years. "Do you want to go to Scandals this Friday?" Skye asks with his stomach in his throat.

"Why Scandals? Aren't you straight?" Sebastian asks. Skye stands there shocked. "Are you serious? What about me screams straight to you?" "Nothing I guess. I'm just surprised we haven't hooked up yet" Sebastian responds.

Skye stands there wondering which is more shocking, unknown to the fact that he is bright pink.

"But aren't you underage? You shouldn't be drinking." Sebastian says with a caring voice. "Do you even have a fake ID?" Sebastian adds. "Of course I do. I can go without you, can't I? " Skye Responds. "Fine, I guess I will go. Why not?" Sebastion finally answers. "God, you're adorable when you blush."Sebastian flirts.

"Kk um cool cool. I will text you the info." Skye responds, still trying to catch his breath. "Ok, do you want to walk back to the dorms together?" Sebastian offers knowing that they are only 2 rooms apart. "I'm gonna stay for a bit. Thanks, though. " Skye responds with a big smile on his face.

Skye sits down on the couch to process what he just did. River comes and sits down next to Skye and asks, "What did you just ask him? You are blushing a lot."Nothing!" Skye responds defensively. "

"Don't you have a project due tomorrow?" Skye says, trying to get out of the conversation. "Don't you have a presentation in AP Macro? You know, the class you hate. Oh, and an essay due tomorrow in Bio?" River snaps backs. "Actually, no, my essay was due today, and I did that." Skye responds with pride. "And the presentation?" River says digging for more info. "You suck you know that right." Skye says with disappointment and boredom but also a bit of tease.

"I'm gonna stay down and study for a bit. If you awake, I will peek into your dorm and say goodnight, " Skye tells River. "Fine, but don't stay up too late." River cares for Skye. "I won't. Goodnight" Skye hugs River. "Goodnight River responds.

As River goes upstairs, Skye sits at a table in the study hall and works on his presentation on the worst subject to ever exist; Macro Economics. The study hall is quiet. Nobody else is there. It is dark.
