[ I had two problems. First, I didn't know where to sleep, it was an absolute no to go back to his house. And second, my body was hurting like hell. As soon as Sun Baby paid for our meal, I flew from the scene.
" Where are you going? " he asked me, running after me.
When he caught up to me, I sped up.
" Are you running away from me ? " he questioned me.
" Duh ! "
His attempt to become a pillar in my life instantly woke me up.
" Do you have a plan ? " he sighed.
" I'll find something. "
It started to get dark and I didn't have a f*cking idea where to go. Sun Baby, who was still following me, ordered me to stop.
" Iris, I said stop ! " he raised his voice.
I stopped, frustrated.
" WHAT ? "
He glared at me with the eyes of a parent exasperated by their child's behavior.
" I know somewhere you could stay. "
" I don't want to go to your house. "
" I'm not talking about my house. "
I raised an eyebrow, waiting to see what he was going to suggest.
" I have an aunt who lives here. Her daughters are now adults, so I'm sure it won't be a problem for her. "
I was irritated to be helped by him again, but I didn't have anywhere else to stay, so I swallowed my pride.
Aspirin called his aunt while we were walking towards the location.
" She said yes. " he simply said, after hanging up.
I didn't say a word. He broke the silence, starting an unexpected conversation.
" You know, you remind me of my cat. She's aloof and adamant, she won't let me get close. But you know what's nice ? Sometimes, I wake up and find out that she was sleeping next to me. "
What was that supposed to mean ? Does he think I like him or some sh*t ?
" I'm not your cat. " I clarified.
" I know you're not. I'm just saying you remind me of her. "
" Whatever. "
Fifteen minutes later, we were in front of the door of his aunt's house. It was a typical American house surrounded by a bunch of identical houses. Aspirin knocked, the door swiftly opened. The woman in front of us was in her fifties and she was very pretty. I used to think that old people were all ugly but I guess I was wrong. His aunt had silver hair and beautiful green eyes, she was wearing a green flowy country dress, hippy style, she was bare feet. She resembled a fairy, I was flabbergasted by her beauty.
