backstory. aegon, second of his name, was known to have fathered more bastards than legitimate sons or daughters. during his youth, or even when he was the king, aegon was a well known figure in every brothels of the capital. anya was one of his favourite, born in a region of essos, far from westeros, she left to have an opportunity to make more money. there, she met her mentor : white worm, or myseria. it is during the war that anya gave birth to a daughter, called cecelie. as the war ended, westeros slowly started to become a better place again. with time, anya became old and decided to take her daughter to the riverlands. it is rumoured that when they arrived, cecelie fell for a well known bastard, son of alys rivers and aemond targaryen. it is unsure how the two eventually left for essos again, as the bastard had nothing to do in the riverlands anymore, but cecelie gave birth to three children. one was named aemond, after the bastard's father. the other was named aemon and the last one, a daughter, was named aelys, after the witch.
it was later said, that the two mothers, were in fact planning to usurp the throne by making their two bastards the heirs - cecelie was a king's daughter, the other bastard was a prince's son-. however, it is under aegon, the third of his name, that the two got banished to essos, to prevent any betraying.
however, after years of banishment, aelys gave birth to a daughter. rhaelle was an healthy child, she had the valyrian's silver hair, but had her mother's blue eyes. she was herself the great granddaughter of a king, the granddaughter of a great bastard. many were sure that one day, rhaelle would have a place at court. the family, during the exile, decided to live in a region, near asshaï. with time, they started to worship the valyrian gods again, relinking with the old traditions. rhaelle followed it and started to learn about blood and fire magic early in her life. she had three generations of great bastards behind her, and she decided to make it worth. aelys decided to go back to westeros, as she knew for aegon iv's unlimited desire. she became one of his mistress, but did not gave birth to any bastard. her only envy was to make rhaelle the next queen of westeros. a plan that failed, but rhaelle definitely became important.
