I finished my work for the day and decided to leave at 8:30 pm. I approached Han, who was still visibly angry with me for touching JK earlier.
"Han, I'm leaving. You take care here and lock up on your way home. Give me the keys," I said, expecting him to hand them over.
But Han refused, "I won't. Why should I do whatever you say?"
His words hurt me, so I didn't respond and continued with my work.
Two hours passed, and customers were still visiting when JK came near me.
"Yn, let's go home. I'm so hungry," JK said, looking at me with pleading eyes.
I reminded him, "We close daily at 12."
JK whined, "But I'm hungry..."
I hesitated, unsure of what to say.....
I noticed Han sitting idle, while Ella was busy taking orders. I approached her and said, "Ella, you take over here and ask someone to cover your tasks."
Ella hesitated, "But Han is there, right?"
Han, feeling ignored, waved his hands in front of me, "Hello, am I invisible?"
I ignored him and continued looking at Ella, which made her think we had a fight.
Ella agreed, "Okay, I will do that."
She instructed Han, "Han, you do this."
Han sarcastically replied, "From when I'm invisible? I don't know." He got up, took the cup from Ella, and started making the order.
Ella approached me, curiosity etched on her face. "Did you both fight?"
I dismissed her concern, "I'm going, I'll be back in half an hour. You take care here."
I removed my apron, grabbed my bag, and left with JK by my side.
As we walked, JK teased, "Kitten, you like me, don't you?"
I corrected him, "First of all, I'm not your kitten, and secondly, I don't like you."
JK smirked, "Liar, I can sense that you like me."
I insisted, "Not at all."
We arrived at a nearby CVS, and as we ate, JK offered, "It's nice, you wanna try some?"
I declined, "No thanks."
JK persisted, "Okay, but I wanna try yours."
I relented, "Okay."
I shared my food with JK, and we ate in silence. After finishing, we headed back to the bakery.
JK sat down and soon fell asleep. At night, the staff gathered to discuss the day's events, but I deliberately sat far from Han, still hurt from our earlier encounter.
I chatted with everyone except Han, which made him feel even more hurt. When the staff left at 11:30, Han and I were the only ones remaining, as we usually left together.
Instead of talking to Han, I wrote a note and stuck it near him. "You can leave, I can manage everything here."
Han read the note and pleaded, "Yn, please talk to me."
I didn't respond to Han and continued scrolling through my phone. Han, having a huge ego, took offense and left without even saying goodbye.
Ten minutes passed, and the bakery grew quiet. I assumed Han had indeed left and went to check. Yes, he was gone.
I returned to JK, who was still sleeping peacefully. I couldn't resist the urge to wake him up, but first, I couldn't help but admire how cute he looked while sleeping. I snapped a few photos, leaning in close to capture his face.
