JEONGHAN POV
"Urgh!"
Pin!
Dum!
I pushed through the crowd, my heart racing with dread. When I finally reached the man lying rigid on the road, my breath caught in my throat.
His black cap had flown off somewhere, leaving only the mask on his face. But what terrified me most was the sight of his body, drenched in blood.
My hands trembled as I reached for his wrist, desperately searching for a pulse.
Weak!
It's not like I haven't dealt with situations like this before, but knowing this accident happened because of me... the fear was overwhelming.
This man could die!
I stared at his hair, now soaked in blood. His eyes were closed tightly, but I could see his chest rising and falling-slowly, too slowly.
I'm the one who wanted to die, but now this man is the one lying here, injured because of me!

"Mr?"
I gasped, turning to see a female nurse smiling gently at me.
"Are you okay? You haven't gone out to eat since yesterday. It's almost morning now."
Huh?! I've been stuck here almost until morning?!
"Okay, thanks," I replied coldly. The nurse just smiled awkwardly at my reaction and left the room.
I turned back to look at the man lying stiffly on the bed, his eyes still closed. If yesterday his face was full of blood, this time it was pale and colorless.
He's still unconscious. The doctor said the injury to his head was quite severe. His right hand was only sprained, but there were many deep wounds around his body.
Huh, luckily I didn't make someone's child disabled-or, even worse, die on the spot. What would I even say to them? That I'm the reason their son ended up like this?
What if... he loses his memory?
Ugh. The problems just keep piling up!
I glanced at the name tag hanging on the headboard and read the man's name slowly.
Choi Seungcheol.
He has a beautiful name. Where's his family? Why didn't they come to see him?
My eyes drifted back to Seungcheol's face. Even though he was pale and lifeless, I could still imagine what he must look like when healthy. His skin is clean, his eyelashes long and thick, and his lips... they're full, which makes me a little jealous.
Erm... why am I even thinking about how handsome he is?
You don't realize it, Jeonghan, but you've endangered someone else's life. Ah, if this man were smart, he wouldn't have stopped me. He would've just let me end my life there.
I shook my head, trying to clear the thoughts. Then, I stood up and left the ward. I need to go home and clean myself up.

After showering, I continued to get ready. I can't just leave the man at the hospital alone, right? At least, I should wait until his family arrives.
I reached for my fully charged smartphone and pressed the power button. A few seconds later, my phone lit up and immediately started buzzing with messages and missed calls.
