I don't have many regrets in life. Most things have turned out okay, and there's no point in dwelling on the past. However, if there's one thing I wish I could change, it would be the day I met Sofia.

We were about an hour into our date, and it felt like she was about to snap. Sitting across from me, her intense glare made me feel like she could stab me with the knife she was gripping so tightly.

It all started earlier in the day when she called me, already stressed about our plans and what to wear. When I arrived to pick her up, she seemed strangely calm. She wore a stunning black dress with delicate white designs, and her hair cascaded freely around her shoulders, making her look breathtaking.

"You look terrible," I blurted out as soon as I saw her, and before I knew it, she was swinging her purse at me in frustration.

Then there was the drive to the restaurant where she relentlessly lectured me for making a rude comment earlier. By the time we arrived, she was already in a sour mood and craving something sweet to calm her nerves. Throughout the walk, she clung to my arm and feigned sweetness, but in reality, she kept pinching me while I spoke to the host about our reservation. The host seated us in a secluded area to ensure our privacy, and although she didn't mention anything, it was clear she preferred not to be alone with me.

I attempted to engage in conversation, but my comments seemed to rub her the wrong way, and she kept complaining about how busy she was the entire month as if it was somehow my fault.

The last straw for her was discovering that the restaurant didn't offer ice cream on the menu. She became incensed and ranted at me incessantly. In response, I decided to ignore her and focus on enjoying my dinner.

Unsurprisingly, she didn't take kindly to being ignored and continued to talk. I resorted to distracting myself with my phone until she stopped speaking. The current situation finds her glaring at me while tightly clutching a sharp knife from the table.

"Are you planning to use that against me?" I asked, meeting her angered gaze.

"I'm contemplating it," she gritted out.

"Would you like to talk about it?" I rolled my eyes and set my phone down on the table.

"I don't even know where to begin. Maybe with the fact that I'm marrying someone who lacks basic courtesy and manners."

"It's not my fault that someone is on her period and is taking it out on the world."

"Oh my fucking gosh, who says that?" She exclaims while glaring at me.

"Well, I'm sorry if I touched a nerve."

"I don't want our dinner to be like this, but you're making it incredibly difficult."

"Would you like some ice cream?"

"Yes, please," she huffed.

I signal the waitress over, and she promptly approaches. Two guards stand at the door, and two waitresses stand with them. The waitress who hurries over is a young woman, but she exudes a serious demeanor, clearly focused on her job and not inclined to make any mistakes.
