About 3 weeks had passed since Zuri dumped Chris and she was taking the breakup pretty hard. She spent way too much time in her room, only coming out to use the bathroom, or when she finally decided to eat. As her best friend it was hard to watch. I was doing everything in my power to keep her spirits up, but nothing was really working. I got her her favorite foods, cuddled in bed with her at night, and reassured her that everything would be ok. I suggested she just go wild for a little to forget about Chris but she just got mad and put me out of her room. I decided to put together a basket of her favorite snacks, a nice card, and a bottle Patron. If that didn't work, I'd be all out of options and have to call her dad. She was really close with her dad and in situations like this, he'd know exactly what to say and do to make her feel better. I wasn't even sure if she told her dad although, I was 95% sure she hadn't. He never liked Chris, even when they first started dating he told her he would end up breaking her heart.
I did my morning routine, I took a shower, did my skincare routine, brushed my teeth, did my hair and got dressed. I went to my closet to find an outfit and picked out a set I made for the clothing brand I planned on launching in a couple months called "Hello Black Child." I stood in the mirror admiring myself for a minute before pulling out my phone to take a picture.

I walked swiftly down the stairs, the stores pretty had just opened and I was trying to beat the rush. I stepped outside and the sun beamed on my skin. The heat in Cali was no joke. I pressed the button to unlock my car and turned my air on as soon as I got in.
