Terence watched anxiously as the organizers of the Tournament argued back on forth. It had been that way since Harry and hydra Potter's name came out of the Goblet of Fire, twelve minutes ago. When his name came out, it was a bit of a shock; the boy in question went missing halfway through the school year just last year. At first, the headmaster had tried to make it look like a misunderstanding, saying that the boy was probably hiding somewhere in the castle and would resurface in a few days.
He never reappeared. A few days after he had failed to appear, however, Professors Flitwick and Lupin fire-called the DMLE and a team of Aurors, led by Amelia Bones was dispatched to Hogwarts to investigate the Boy-Who-Lived's and The Multicoloured eyes twin disappearance. Nothing came out of it. All their belongings were gone so it was assumed that their disappearance was voluntary but that was it. While the Aurors and Madame Bones herself felt that something was off, they couldn't do anything because of the lack of proof; house elves and portraits had been sworn to silence so they couldn't help them and the students didn't seem to know anything.
Then they went missing and nobody could tell what had happened. Rumours were at an all-time high and it didn't die (it was the other way actually) when Peter Pettigrew was arrested and tried. Sirius Black, notorious Death Eater and Mass Murderer was proven innocent (both in the muggle and magical world) thanks to the rat animagus testimony under veritaserum. Still, the Boy-Who-Lived and the multicoloured eyes twin Sapphire twin disappearance remained a mystery since Pettigrew denied any responsibility for this.
With a newly exonerated Sirius Black, the man was sent to St Mango for treatment and then left with Professor Lupin to go search for their missing godsons on their own since they didn't trust the Ministry nor Dumbledore with this. Whether they had found them or not remained a mystery since no one had gotten any news from them
Until now that is. The Unspeakables present tonight assured them that either the missing student would be summoned (though it was unlikely according to Shield and Blade) or the Goblet would give them some kind of hint about the whereabouts of the boy.
The Great Hall had been expanded for the evening; the drawing of the names had attracted numerous guests ranging from rich parents to diplomats from foreign places. A few reporters (and some people from the WWN) were sitting at the guests' table. Terence even recognized some faces from the Wizengamot and the Ministry. He had, after all, been introduced to some in past balls and gala charities. His dads were there too, sitting next to Evan III Rosier, (formerly suspected Death Eater but never proven guilty).
His musing was interrupted by surprising yells and screams all around him. Raising his head, he blinked when he saw the Goblet acting up. Red flames danced all around the artefact before... well... exploding, leaving some kind of intangible giant screen that was floating between the tables (student's & guest's tables) and the teacher's table.
The 5th-year Slytherin exchanged a nervous look with his housemates and friends. He had been worried over Potter's disappearance (while they weren't exactly friends yet, they did get along pretty well. Or at least they did until the other boy started acting all scared and jumpy). He still was but he wasn't sure he wanted to see where this was going.
That's the moment the screen chooses to light
