Aisha was heading toward her cab, already thinking about the long ride ahead when her eyes landed on a sight that made her freeze. Aarav. Of course, he was there.

Aisha couldn't wrap her head around why he was talking to her cab driver. What is he doing here?

She walked up, still confused, and spoke up.

Aisha: "What are you doing here now?"

Aarav: "YOU AGAIN?"

Aisha closed her ears, acting like she didn’t hear him.

Aarav: "Can you stop yelling? I asked you first, so answer me."

Driver: "Ma'am, he's saying he booked this cab."

Aisha: "But I booked this cab! Look."

Aisha showed her phone to Aarav, and he did the same. To her shock, he had the exact same booking.

Now, Aisha was really confused. She turned to the cab driver, who scratched his neck awkwardly.

Driver: "Uh, ma'am, it looks like I made both bookings... by mistake."

Aisha and Aarav exchanged glares.

Aarav: "Look, I have to get to Rajkot urgently. You book another cab."

Aisha: "Why should I book another cab? You book it."

They both argued for a few seconds, but the driver, clearly overwhelmed, interrupted.

Driver: "Look, there are only two options. You both can either go together, or I'll cancel the booking."

Aarav and Aisha were both shocked by the suggestion. They looked at each other, side-eyeing, neither willing to back down.

Aarav: "I won’t go with her."

Aisha: "And I’m not going with you."

They both crossed their arms and pouted, almost like children. The driver sighed.

Driver: "I really don’t want to cancel this, so you’ll have to share the cab."

The tension hung in the air as they both reluctantly agreed.

Aarav: "Fine. But this is just because we have no choice."

Aisha: "Same here."

They both entered the cab, sitting on opposite sides, staring out of their windows, avoiding eye contact like they were being forced into some cosmic punishment.

They both fell asleep somewhere along the way, the hum of the road lulling them into an uneasy rest. A few hours later, Aisha woke up, reaching for her phone. It was about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. She noticed that Priya had called her the night before, but she hadn’t answered.

Time for an update.

Aisha’s Text:

Aisha baby🩷: "I didn’t pick up your call last night because of everything with Aarav. I didn’t want to burst out on you."

Priya❤️: "Seriously, Aishu? Male ego? And you didn’t pick up because of that?!"

Aisha baby🩷: "I didn’t mean it, di, you know that. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. But, yeah, it’s been weird since yesterday."

Priya❤️: "If you didn’t mean it, you shouldn’t have said it. And today, that was just a coincidence, remember? You even said it to the principal!"

Aisha baby🩷: "I know, di. I’m sorry."

Priya❤️: "Say sorry to him, not to me."

Aisha baby🩷: "I will try, but if he does something again, I won’t stay silent."

Priya❤️: "Did you ever stay silent?"

Aisha baby🩷: "Nope."

Priya❤️: "Then?"

Aisha baby🩷: "Okay, okay, now I’m starving. Talk to you later!"

Priya❤️: "Okay, bye, bhukkhad (foodie)."

Aisha baby🩷: "😁"

Priya liked the message and went offline, leaving Aisha to her thoughts
