Ayaat greeted her father warmly, tears welling up in her eyes as she hugged her parents tightly for what felt like the last time. Jahaan also greeted her parents with respect. Her father’s eyes were moist too as they prepared to leave. Then ayaat and jahaan left from there Ayaat and Jahaan got into the car. Throughout the drive, Jahaan couldn’t take his eyes off Ayaat, while she kept her gaze lowered, lost in her thoughts.

The car eventually stopped in front of a beautiful bungalow. Jahaan got out first and opened the door for Ayaat, helping her out. “This is your home now,” he said softly. “I hope you’ll like it.” Ayaat remained silent, standing there with a blank expression, unable to find the words.

They both walked inside, where Jahaan gently suggested, “You should go upstairs and freshen up. I have an important call to make.” Ayaat simply nodded and made her way to the room upstairs. Once inside, she looked around at the luxurious surroundings before sitting down on the bed. Her mind was flooded with thoughts of her family and Umar, the people she loved and missed dearly. Tears began to roll down her cheeks as she felt the weight of everything she had lost.

Just then, Jahaan entered the room. Ayaat quickly wiped her tears away, not wanting him to see her vulnerability. Jahaan placed his phone and wallet on the bedside table and asked, “Are you feeling better ?” Ayaat nodded again, unable to speak. Jahaan smiled and said, “Alright, I’ll go freshen up too,” before leaving the room.

Ayaat remained seated on the bed, her thoughts still consumed by her family. Suddenly, she heard familiar voices and looked around, trying to locate the source of the sound. Her eyes fell on Jahaan’s phone, and as she listened closely, she realized the voices were coming from it. For a moment, she hesitated, unsure if she should touch his phone without permission. But then, she heard her own name mentioned and instinctively picked up the phone.

When she unlocked it, she was shocked to see video footage of her parents on the screen. The video displayed CCTV footage from every corner of her house, making Ayaat’s heart race with disbelief. As she continued to scroll through the phone, she found photos from her college fest and even some personal videos of her in her room. Slowly, the horrifying truth began to sink in—Jahaan had been spying on her all along.

Her shock quickly turned into anger, and she felt a surge of rage building up inside her. Just as her emotions reached a boiling point, Jahaan walked out of the washroom, a sweet smile on his face. Ayaat, seething with anger, thrust the phone in his face and demanded, “What is this? You’ve been spying on me all this time? Who gave you the right to install cameras in my house? How dare you do this! I thought you were a decent person, but I had no idea you were so deceitful.”

Jahaan kept his crooked smile, watching her intently. Then, in a calm voice, he said, “Relax, princess.” The word “PRINCESS,” once a term of endearment her father used, now filled Ayaat with disgust. The innocence of the word was lost, tainted by Jahaan’s betrayal.
