"I have a past, Professor Yniee," Principal Kim said, his eyes clouding over. "A past that I've kept hidden for a long time. But I feel like I need to be honest with you, because...because I think I might be falling for you."
Professor Yniee's heart skipped a beat. Falling for her? She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"What is it, Principal Kim?" she asked, her voice gentle, encouraging him to continue.
Principal Kim hesitated, collecting his thoughts before speaking. "I was married before," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I have a daughter, but...but she passed away. My wife and I, we couldn't cope with the loss, and...and we drifted apart."
Professor Yniee's heart went out to him. She couldn't imagine what he must have gone through.
"I'm so sorry, Principal Kim," she said, her voice filled with compassion.
Principal Kim nodded, his eyes welling up with tears. "I know I shouldn't be telling you this, but...but I feel like I can trust you, Professor Yniee. And I don't know what the future holds, but...but I want to explore this feeling I have for you."
