Ginger had blown my phone up with dozens of texts in the short ten minutes it took to get to The Occidental. Pulling up to the front of the building, I catch sight of her clad in a black skin-tight mini dress, with her arms firmly crossed and a nasty scowl painting her face as she glares at her cellphone. Oh great, she looks pissed already.

Ginger's baby blues snap to mine when she recognizes me in the passenger seat. As fast as she turns to look at Lucas, her face morphed into a sweet but seductive smile. Walking in front of the truck, I notice the back of her dress is merely strings attached to a band across her ass. If she wiggles those hips any harder, everyone is going to see everything.

Lucas turns his hazels to me, looking like a kid hoping for someone to save them, I snort and start to laugh, "Don't look at me like that. We are here, and she has spotted you, so no backing out now." Lucas juts out his bottom lip, giving me a pout, puppy eyes and all. I playfully rub his cheek before tapping it, "Suck it up, buttercup."

Leaping out of the truck, I stick the landing and start to make my way over to Rachel and Andrew. Looking over to Lucas, I am less than surprised to see Ginger hanging off his arm, with breasts firmly pressed into his bicep. I watch as he turns his head, looking around until he spots me, his eyes begging for a rescue.

Andrew ruffles his blonde styled bed head out of his sharp green eyes. He is sporting loose jeans and a button-up just tight enough to see the form of his lean torso, with sleeves rolled up to reveal wiry biceps. "Do not ever leave me waiting with an impatient Ginger again," he grumbles as I reach him.

I give him a sweet smile, "Was it really all that bad?" He shoots me a nasty glare, and I put both hands up in surrender. "Guess it was that bad."

Rachel shakes her head, and her long blond hair swishes around her face. She looks sweet in a knee-length floral dress that hugs her curves in a demure fashion. "Natalia, she was relentless in texting and ranting about you fucking up her chances with Lucas. You know how Ginger gets when she wants something or in this case someone."

I knew exactly what Rachel was talking about. Ginger has been spoiled by her parents from the start. No matter the cost or ridiculousness of the request, Ginger was always rewarded with what she desired by them. It had resulted in the selfish girl I called my best friend and made the word no foreign to her.

Andrew looked to Ginger falling all over herself, giggling mindlessly, to garner Lucas' attention. "Maybe we can go in without her and avoid watching her well rehearsed act," he snorted going to turn to the door.

I grasped his shoulder, shaking my head, "If we abandon Lucas with Ginger now, chances are he will end up avoiding our friend group after tonight. You want a new paintballing buddy, we can't just leave him to fend for himself."

Andrew huffed a frustrated sigh and looked to Rachel, who merely shrugged her shoulders. "Fine," he conceded, "but next paintball trip you have to come with Lucas too."

Lucas finally manages to drag Ginger to the doors, where we wait. "Uhh, Ginger can you let go of my arm? I need to grab my wallet to pay my cover charge."

A tiny scowl flitted across Ginger's expression before she releases Lucas, "Of course, silly me. I am just excited to get dancing," she giggles swinging her hips.

Lucas steps behind me in the line, leaning in, I feel his warmth breath tickle my neck, "That was not nice Natalia." His deep bass voice rumbling so close has goosebumps covering my arms. "I thought you were going to be my Ginger buffer," he whispers, his lips skimming my ear. A shiver travels down my spine, and I swear I must be made of goosebumps now. I started to stutter out a response until I felt his hand on my hip pulling me to him, "Guess I will have to keep you close then."
