Chapter 33

Previously on Chapter 32

"No!!" Akaza yelled out. He choke out a sob as tears starts to flow down his cheeks. He moves to kneel down in front of the Demon King. "You can take anything from me. Anything... but please, Muzan-Sama. N-Not her. She's all I have in this world" he said, begging. He place his forehead on the ground as he begged the Demon King to let me go. Akaza... I'm so sorry for causing this much trouble on you. But what can I do?

-A Change Of Heart-

Y/N P.O.V

I watch sadly as Akaza kneels in front of the Demon King. He continues to begged, with his forehead on the ground. My heart aches painfully at the sight. I can't believe someone would go down on their knees just for the sake of keeping me by their side. Do I really mean that much to Akaza?

"P-Please..." he begged. I feel the hands on my neck loosening up. I turn my gaze to the Demon King. I feel his hand eventually releases me, making me fall on the ground. I cough violently as I try to get the air back into my lungs.

I lift my head to look at the Demon King. "Leave..." he muttered. I stare at him in confusion. He turn his head away from me. "It's clear that no matter what I'd do... I won't be able to have you. I may have your body, but I will never own your heart. So just go with Akaza..." he said.

"Y-You're... you're letting me go?" I said, eyes widening as I stare at him in shock. He nod his head lightly. I turn my head to look at Akaza who had lifted his head. He's also seems shocked by what Kibutsuji just said.

Tears starts flowing down his cheeks. He bows his head. "Thank you, Muzan-Sama..." he said. I move to stand up and Akaza do the same. He rush towards me, throwing his arms around me in a tight embrace.

"Akaza..." I cried out. I bury my face in his chest as I hug him back. I feel my clothes getting wet from his tears. My own tears starts to roll down my face. I'm so glad that the Demon King finally chose to let me go. A soft strumming sound of biwa reaches my ears. I open my eyes to see I'm not in the Infinity Castle anymore.

Akaza and I pulls away from each other. He gently lean his forehead against mine. "I'm so glad that I can be with you without worry now..." he said, making me smile at him. He lift his hands, gently cupping my cheeks. "I love you, Y/N..." he said.

"I love you too, Akaza" I said. I wrap my arms around his neck, burying my face into the crook of his neck. "I miss you so much..." I said. He gently place his hand on my head, gently running it through my hair.

"I miss you too, N/N..." he said. I pull away slightly to look at him. He gently tuck some loose strands of hair behind my ear. He gently cups my cheeks. He slowly leans down, closing his eyes. My eyes drifted shut as our lips come in contact with each other.

After a while, we finally pull away. Our foreheads are still connected with each other. "How I miss that feeling, Y/N..." he said, softly. I smile softly at what he said. He gives me another kiss, making me smile as I gently run my hand through his hair.

"So what now?" I said, as I place my forehead on his chest. "Now that the Demon King has released me. What are we going to do from this point onward?" I asked. I lift my head to look at him.

"I don't care about what we'd do. What I care most is that you're here with me... for good this time" he said. I just smile at what he said. He places a soft kiss on my forehead, letting his lips linger against my skin. "I'm never letting you go again" he said.

"Come with me..." I said, after a while of silence. I pull my head back a little to look at him. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Come with me to the Butterfly Estate. We can find a way to turn us back into a human. Then we can live peacefully" I said.

"But will they accept me? After all, I'm a demon who've killed a lot of their kind" he said. I frown at what he said. I'm not sure if everyone in the Butterfly Estate would accept Akaza. But, what other choices do we have?

"We can always try? If they don't accept you. I'll go with you wherever you go" I said. I said. He stays silent as he seems to be considering about my offer. "Akaza?" I said. He turn his head to look at me.

A soft smile starts to form on his face. He gently nudges his nose against mine. "Okay... if you wish it" he said. I smile happily at what he said. I'm glad that he agreed with my suggestion. Hopefully, everyone in the Estate would welcome him. After all, they did welcomed me who's a demon.

I'm the only one who has conquered the sun. Akaza is still not immune. So we have no choice but to travel during nighttime. We hide inside an abandoned house, making sure to cover everything that will potentially brought the sunlight into the house.

Akaza and I sit on the ground with our back against the wall. He has his arm around my shoulder, and I have my head on his. He lift his hand, placing it on my head. I let out a soft hum as he run his hand through my hair.

"I'm so happy to be back in your arms again, Akaza..." I said. I tilt my head to look at him. He smiles softly at me. He gently places a soft kiss on the side of my head. "My wish for our future now is that we'd never have to be separated again" I said.

"Me too, love... I don't ever want to lose you again" he said. He moves his hand to the back of my head, pulling me closer to rest his forehead against mine. "I love you... so much" he said. 

"I love you too" I said. He leans down, placing his lips against mine. I wrap my arms around his neck. He pulls me closer until I'm sitting on his lap. I tilt my head as I deepen our kiss. I feel a smile on his face in between the kiss, making me smile too. I'm so happy to be back in his arms again. Hopefully this time it will be forever.
