Muzan Kibutsuji was always a ruthless being. The only love he had was entirely devoted to his wife and daughter.
From the moment he saw Michikatsu, Muzan knew he was not going to be an ordinary demon.
He patiently waited, like a predator stalking its prey; staying close but in the shadows; invisible, waiting for the precise moment to act.
On that dark night, on the rooftop, Muzan saw him; shining under the moonlight, with a decision made.
Michikatsu endured the incoherent amount of blood Muzan provided, and Muzan saw his beautiful face hours later.
His hair had retained its burgundy curls, and his skin remained pale, but now in a tone resembling a delicate porcelain doll. His eyes, on the other hand, multiplied several times; until there were six eyes of a radiant golden-yellow color with maroon sclerae. He was perfect. More than any other creation Muzan had imagined. He was no longer Michikatsu; he was now Kokushibo.
Over time, their relationship grew; Muzan did not see Kokushibo as just a subordinate, but as an equal, and Kokushibo showed unwavering loyalty to his master from the moment his transformation began. Kokushibo was definitely perfect for Muzan, and Muzan was perfect for Kokushibo.
After half a century, Muzan formed the Upper Moons; the six most powerful demons after himself. Of course, Kokushibo was the first; Muzan's right hand, the most powerful, and his undisputed favorite.
All this aroused the envy of weaker demons, who longed for Muzan's favor that Kokushibo had but could only dream of. Muzan didn't care and made sure to always show his favoritism. The way Kokushibo did everything was beautiful, and even though many considered the appearance of the Upper Moon unpleasant, to Muzan, everything about him was perfect. His appearance, his delicate way of moving, and how he spoke so politely regardless of the addressee gradually made Muzan fall for him.
Over the years, and after a century, they officially confirmed their relationship. Muzan would have announced it to the world if it were up to him, but Kokushibo was usually more reserved on such matters, so the other demons were not informed until a century later: after their wedding.
As a result of their love, they were granted the privilege of conceiving and raising a child of their own blood.
Kokushibo, initially frightened but then excited by the idea, only hoped that the child would resemble Muzan.
Muzan, on the other hand, wanted a son; a little warrior.
Although, in fact, they had a little girl with curly burgundy hair, ruby-colored eyes, and pale skin.
Perhaps many thought otherwise, but from the moment he saw his daughter for the first time, Muzan knew he would do whatever it took to protect her from all danger, and that’s what he would do.
Even if it meant throwing away hundreds of years of research and proving to Kagaya Ubuyashiki that he was fully capable of living a new peaceful life.
