MOMMY ISSUES
3RD PERSON'S POV:
LEXI AND HER MOM sat in the car silently. Lexi was looking out of the window while her mom drove the car. Caroline understood her daughter because that's the same way, she acted when her dad left. She joked about him being gay and talked to her mother in rude tone. Caroline regrets it and she doesn't want her daughter to go through the same thing.
The Forbes woman didn't understand then when she was still a teenage girl, but now she knows how her mom felt when she would talk to her that way. She also knows how it feels when she doesn't have enough of her mom's attention.
Caroline looked at Lexi and sighed before stopping the car. They needed to talk. This conversation couldn't wait.
The teenage Salvatore looked at her mother confused. "Why would you stop?" She asked her mom.
"We need to talk." Caroline told her daughter and Lexi rolled her eyes before looking in the front annoyed "Honey, I am worried about you. You are so different. You are being rude, aggressive, and you are beating girls."
"And boys." Lexi added and Caroline sighed.
"Lexi, just talk to me. I can help you." Caroline told her daughter and Lexi shook her head.
"There's nothing to talk about, mom. I am fine." She said with innocent smirk. "I don't need help. I am feeling perfect. Why don't you understand?" She asked.
"I know how it feels to grow up without dad. I know, trust me. I used to pretend-" Caroline started talking.
"Stop. Don't make this about dad. Okay, because I don't feel sad or anything. I don't care. I am not pretending." Lexi told her mother. It was a lie but it hurt to hear. "Get that inside your head, mom. I am not pretending. It's me. It's who i-"
"Alexandra Lilian Salvatore!" Caroline yelled making Lexi to gasp. "You are getting out of control! You are lying! I am your mother and I exactly know what's wrong with you! But I am so tired of hearing your jokes about your dad's death. He was a good guy and he wouldn't be happy to see what you have become! He would be disappointed!" She yelled at Lexi making the girl to look down. "Your father loved you and died for you and you are joking about his death!"
Lexi stayed silent.
Caroline sighed feeling sad. "I don't know who you are anymore, Lexi. I look at you and I don't see my Lexi anymore, you have changed." She told her daughter. "That's reminds me of myself when I was teenager. I was rude to everyone, even my mother and I was a terrible daughter and friend. You know what happened then my mom died. She died and I never got to tell her how sorry I am." The woman explained.
Lexi looked at her mother. "I am so sorry mom but I am not you. I won't make same mistakes you did." She tells her mom and Caroline looked like she would cry.
"You already are."
Lexi glanced her mom again. "Just drive, please." She said before turning to the window and Caroline started the car.
In that car ride Caroline realized that Lexi Lilian Salvatore is another version of her when she was still a teenage brat. I guess history repeated itself, doesn't it?
____________
Lexi run in the house the moment they got to France. She was about to run to her room when Caroline stopped her by speeding in front of her. Lexi rolled her eyes annoyed as Caroline smirked down at her.
"What?" The younger girl asked her mother who speeded her to the livingroom room. "Seriously?"
"We haven't finished talking." She answered and Lexi rolled her eyes.
"You are getting annoying." Lexi muttered.
"So are you." Caroline said and Lexi glares at her. "Your uncle would be proud to hear how you act and your father would be very disappointed."
"Yeah, I have heard."
"Lexi, you need to stop." Caroline told her daughter as Lexi sat on the couch. Caroline kneeled down and Lexi glances her.
"Stop what, mom?" She asked her.
"Your actions." Caroline said and Lexi looked down. Caroline got a hold of her hands. "Honey, I love you more than anyone in the whole world. You are everything to me. You are my first priority. If you continue acting like this, I don't know what I will do because I am scared for you. I am worried about you and mad at myself because i know something is bothering you and I am not able to help you."
"It's not your fault." Lexi told her mom and Caroline bit her lip. "Don't suffer yourself just because you got disappointment as the daughter." The salvatore girl said with sad smile.
"Lexi, you are not disappointment." Caroline tried to tell her.
"You said it yourself that Dad would be disappointed." Lexi reminded her.
"I didn't mean it like that." Caroline tried to explain. "You are-"
"No, no, no. Don't try to make me feel better, mom. I know that I am disappointment and I am sorry." Lexi said to her with tears.
"Lexi, stop!" Caroline said. "Don't say that!"
"No, you stop!" Lexi snapped standing up."You are so worried that I will end up like you. Guess, what, Mom! I am not you."
"You are acting like me!"
"I am grieving, mom!" Lexi snapped. "It's called grieving."
"It's been 10 years, honey." Caroline said quietly and Lexi chuckled.
"I know. But it still hurts the same." Lexi said one tear escaping her eye. "Can I please go to my room?" She asked and Caroline didn't know what to say. "Please?"
"Yeah, go." Caroline said with sad look and Lexi run to her room.
Caroline sighs. She was so scared for her daughter. She pulled out her phone to call someone. She dialed a number and called.
"Hey, Bonnie." She greeted her friend. "I need help with Lexi."
