"Our 'difference' is not 'wrong', I want to know every side of you" -  We'll never change by Tomorrow x Together

Ling's breath fogged her dressing room window, creating a haze that obstructed her reflection in the mirror. The room was still cluttered with costume racks and piles of makeup kits and felt oddly familiar despite the years that had passed.

She ran a finger along the condensation, moistened by the artificial fog on the glass. Her mind drifted back to the days of her youth when she was still struggling to speak her native mother tongue ironically and was just merely another bright-eyed and bushy-tailed trainee at the acting academy. Ling knew if she had to endure that all again, she would in a heartbeat taste the sweet satisfaction of her proud parents.

The soft hum of the conversation just outside the dressing room broke her reverie. Lingling glanced at her watch, her pulse quickening. Today was the first day of filming for The Secret Of Us, this was to be the most pivotal moment in her life.

This time she will be the lead actress and not some mute character on the sidelines with little to no development. Ling reckoned it was the lack of her Thai speaking skills that had her held back for so long, but she was glad that it gave her the chance to model and perfect emotions and skills by watching experienced actors on set. She built her career on the quiet strength of her performances and her private life as elusive as her on-screen roles previously played.

Ling's Stomach fell in knots, and an uneasy feeling settled within her core. It was Orm.

The casting list had caught her off guard. Orm, her former trainee classmate had been cast as her co-star. Seven years younger, worlds apart in energy and personality, yet once upon a time, they had shared the same space, the same dream. But it seemed different now.

Orm had been the bright, enthusiastic one back then, her laughter and boldness filling every corner of the acting academy. One could say that she was an orange cat reincarnated as a human, fierce and not so small. A small smile etched into Ling's face as she soothed out the fabric of her blazer as she reminisced the past. She wondered if those days had just been a distant memory- or if they had changed too much since then. Not that it mattered to Ling, she was never close with anyone in that class back then, all that occupied her mind was keeping herself healthy and helping her parents as much as she possibly could.

A way to show appreciation and gratitude to the ones who loved and sacrificed themselves every day just so Ling and her brother could have a beautiful childhood. And to no doubt in Ling's mind did she have a beautiful childhood, she knew that no amount could ever compare or repay that love, but she wanted to for her own heart's sake.

Classes back then were quite mundane in memory, she wished she made some friends but her introverted self, held her back in life in more ways than one can count. To Ling, it worked out quite well towards the end and she knew she would never exchange that.
