Cecilia
Mattheo wanted to make it up for me for taking out for lunch at our favorite restaurant. Soon my third year is over, as much I was happy about my graduation, he was more excited then me. Im over the moon about it, still doesn't mean Im over with it im still thinking to follow bachelor degree. Architecture university sure its hard and expensive, Mattheo always told i didnt had to worry about my tuition as long my grades are good. Im confused how does he make so much money, I dont even how what job does he do, he even doesn't let me have a job.
"So is this how you will go? Banging chicks from the club at our house...Why dont you find real love?" I wanted to tease him." Didnt we agreed that you bring them when Im not home?!"
Mattheo almost chocked on his water. He placed his glass donw and looked at me.
"Look I was drunk you can probably smell the alcohol on me and second I wasnt thinking straight at that moment."Its been 2 years since he broke up with his girlfriend, I didnt asked what was the reason but he really looked upset at that moment. Since he was been going out to clubs and having one night stand with multiple girls. I hope I dont became an aunt from his mistake.
"I dont want to fall in love again."
I rolled my eyes at him.
"If you dont find someone let me enjoy myself to date a guy"
He started to laugh sarcastically. Oh man was he ever serious about one thing. This moron still laughing while shaking his head as a no. He didnt just acted more like an older brother to me while being my second parent.I remember that every guy came up to talk to me, Mattheo was going to be behind me giving the boy a threatening look. I already know my destiny, that was going to be a nun for the rest of my life.
We were interrupted by a call from his phone, probably one his guy friends or one of the girls he love to screw around. While I was taking a bite of my food I see his friend Zhenya coming straight at our table.
Apparently he was the one who called Mattheo if we was around to join us for lunch.Zhenya is from Russia, short dirty blonde hair, tall, and gorgeous blue eyes. When he talks to me, he has a deep russian accent that i get weak on the knees. All of his friends are a bunch dicks, I hate them but Zhenya I kinda had a small crush on him. I mean im a sucker for european men especially slavic men.
He sat next to Mattheo and started to talk to me. Oh man its pure melody to hear his voice, that deep voice with a russian accent. I wasnt understanding what he said, i think he caught zoning out.
"Im sorry what you said Zhenya?" I asked him politely, acting like I wasn't being obsessed.
"I ask how are you and your studies going." He smiled.
"Oh, Im sorry i didn't heard you. Yeah im alright, they going great, Im going to graduate this week and get my university degree before going to bachelor." Did i apologise twice? I must embarrassed myself for talking that much. I just want to dissappear when he's near me. " How you have been?"
"Good, actually...I got some business going around here in New York. I'll be staying here for a bit before going back to Russia."
I feel Mattheo glancing at me and Zhenya like a hawk while relaxing on the chair and crossing his arms looking at me before he speak.
"Zhenya will be staying a few days at our apartment untill we goes back to Russia...I hope you're alright with that? You usually hate my friends." Mattheo said to me still not taking his eyes of me. He might suspicious something...I hope not.
"Yeah sure he can stay." I said still not breaking eye contact from him. " And yes I hate all your friends because they are like pedophiles."
I hear Zhenya chuckled. He must think I offended him as well calling him a pedophile. If it was another one of Mattheo's friends accept Zhenya I wouldn't allow him at all probably kick his ass as well. A reminder not to see Mattheo's face again. Still Mattheo had to be sure if I was comfortable with Zhenya being at our house. After that conversation, we had lunch together. As usual, it was a mix of casual talk and some business discussions. My brother and Zhenya seemed to hit it off, diving deep into their conversation about business trends and market shifts. The two of them talked animatedly, and I sat there, mostly playing with my food and staring out the window. I tried to tune into what they were saying at first, but after a while, it was hard to stay interested. Business wasn't my thing, and it felt like they were speaking a language I didn't understand.
Occasionally, they'd throw a glance my way, as if to check if I was following along or still awake, but I just gave a polite smile and nodded here and there. They must have noticed how distant I was because at some point, Zhenya turned to me and said,
"You look bored out of your mind." His chuckle was lighthearted, and my brother smirked.
"I am," I replied honestly, shrugging. "No offense."
"No offense taken," Zhenya said, raising his hands in mock surrender. "This stuff isn't for everyone."I was thankful they understood.Soon after, they wrapped up their conversation, and we decided it was time to head back. Relief washed over me. It wasn't that I didn't enjoy spending time with them I just hated being outside, especially when there wasn't much to do except listen to endless business chatter. The drive back was quiet, with the hum of the car engine filling the silence. Zhenya and my brother exchanged a few words, but it wasn't as intense as their earlier discussion. I leaned my head against the window, watching the scenery blur by. Trees, buildings, and people passed like fleeting thoughts, none of them sticking long enough to hold my attention.
When we finally pulled up to the house, I didn't waste any time. As soon as the car was parked, I grabbed my things and headed inside without much of a word. My brother and Zhenya stayed behind, still engaged in some kind of conversation, but I didn't care to listen in. I needed my space.I made a beeline for my room, the quiet sanctuary I had been craving all day. The moment I closed the door behind me, the tension in my body eased. I tossed my bag on the floor, kicked off my shoes, and flopped onto the bed. The soft mattress beneath me felt like heaven.Staring up at the ceiling, I let out a long breath. Tomorrow was Monday, which meant school. The thought weighed on me, a reminder that the weekend was practically over. There was something so exhausting about the routine of it all the early mornings, the classes that seemed to drag on forever, and the constant social interactions I wasn't in the mood for. But it was inevitable, and the best I could do was enjoy the last bit of freedom I had left for the day.I closed my eyes, sinking further into the bed, hoping to catch a nap before the day ended. The soft hum of the house, the distant sound of my brother's voice downstairs, and the faint chirping of birds outside created a soothing backdrop. I let my mind drift, the thoughts of school, responsibilities, and everything else fading away as sleep slowly began to pull me under. For now, everything was still, and that was exactly what I needed.
